https://abc7ny.com/post/doge-21-federal-technology-staffers-resign-help-elon-musk-slash-size-government/15954012/

More than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, saying they were refusing to use their technical expertise to "dismantle critical public services."

"We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations," the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. "However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments."

The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by Musk to help him slash the size of the federal government under President Donald Trump's administration were political ideologues who did not have the necessary skills or experience for the task ahead of them.

But I don't think he cartes about approval at all anymore, it's not like he's going to run a campaign again. Now is all about consolidating power and capitulating to Putin and China globally.

around 48% to 48%, with the vast majority of Republicans supporting him.
It's not about if he cares, it's about the voters and the Press turning on him. As long as his polls are like this, there will be no massive back lash, and the GOP will fully support and implement his agenda.

28. Luckily for us, neither TrElon nor the GQP seem to realize something very important:
Tue Feb 25, 2025, 04:58 PM

The one and only key to political popularity is the economy. Sure, there are those on the right that will still support TrElon as their own family is being thrown into a political prison, and there are those on the left that would not support them even while their own family prospered under their policies--but the actual majority of voters are swayed only by how they feel about the price they pay at the pump, at the grocery store, and at the pharmacy. Unemployment is low, so that is not a ready tool to use as it was for the Nazi party--they (on paper and through some truly evil means) brought it down from nearly 33% in 1933 to almost nothing by 1939. But a concerted effort to lower consumer prices would likely garner the new administration the popularity to THEN smash everything to pieces and be applauded for it. We should be kind of glad they are rushing in and just smashing the fire alarms off the walls of the burning building we just hired them to take care of in such a juvenile way. Of course, the Biden administration truly failed to realize this as well--which is a big part of the reason we are here. Doing good for people really means nothing if they feel poorer; doing bad things to people can be acceptable as long as they feel wealthier. America is truly not driven by morality.

9. and HOW EXACTLY will that backlash lead to restoration of democracy?
Tue Feb 25, 2025, 01:32 PM
Feb 25

A dictator that, through blackmail and intimidation, has consolidated power into a "unitary executive" has no restraints. With the decapitation of military leadership...placing loyalists in leadership positions, he has no restraints. The Insurrection Act will be declared as soon as all players are confirmed and in place. The government is being purged of any potential dissenters. The press is losing it's ability to report negative stories about El Presidente.

An irate populace can only respond at the ballot box. The power of elections is being eroded by Republican legislation. Fair election in 2026 and beyond are not certain.

The bottom line is that chaos and dissent will be met with military force. This is Trump's fever dream. The courts, Congress, the press, and the beauracracy are ALL being crushed.

We have seen this movie throughout history. It is far easier to destroy a democracy than to restore it. Liberal pundits keep insisting that this wave of illegal autocratic rule can not stand against an uprising of citizens. I still cannot connect the dots between street protests and the actual POWER to reverse recent acts.

13. The problem with this theory
Tue Feb 25, 2025, 03:01 PM
Feb 25

Is that a)not everyone is upset and b)those who are upset aren't upset at all the same things.

For instance, many people who have lost their jobs vote Republican. They may be mad they lost their job, but I bet you they aren't too upset about border access, deportations, elimination of DEI, transgender id and some other things. Others may not have lost their jobs but are more angry about foreign policy and not domestic. Then their are progressives who are angry at most everything. Until conservative Republicans comprise a very large percentage of those who are upset, nothing is going to happen.

Republicans could have stopped him in 2016 when he came down the escalator. They could have stopped him the same year when Access Hollywood tape was released. They could have stopped him when he stood shoulder to shoulder with Putin in Helsinki and claimed our intelligence agencies were lying about Russia. They could have stopped him when he blackmailed Ukraine the first time. They could have stopped him after January 6th. They could have thrown him to the curb in February of 2021 after Biden took office. They could have disavowed him after he took classified documents and obstructed DOJ in their return. They could have nominated someone else for 2024.

So you think after all that, they are just going to remove him from office now? When he is doing exactly what he said he was going to do if he got back in?

Folks, its over. Our country is never coming back. There will be all out war in Europe by 2026 and it will roll down hill from there.

I said it last year: Putin gave the Biden Administration two choices: Allow Donald Trump to become President and destroy the country for ever; or don't allow him to become President and significantly harm the country for the foreseeable future. We see what they chose. Stopping him and making his fan club maddy-mad for a while will soon be seen as what would have been the better option, I'm afraid.

In more ways than one.

Tariffs are going to devastate manufacturing. But just as important is consumers afraid to spend. People are terrified and no spending because of it.

and 218 in the House must soon come to the realization that if they let Trump get away with all this autocrat crap, the people could end up taking to the streets against Hegseth's hand picked treason-backing Generals, setting the stage for a Kent State-like kickoff to Martial Law.

And those pols should be told now that their days, and family's days, of going out in public are over. No more restaurants, schools, parks, beaches, even walking the dog unless they are escorted and employ a lot of expensive security and look over their shoulders often.
