Kind of think this should be a bigger story

From Catherine Rampell on BlueSky: I know I should not be laughing at this but like the same people who have accessed Americans' Social Security numbers and may be storing them on unsecured laptops can't figure out how to contact the NUCLEAR SAFETY EXPERTS they just indiscriminately fired. If this were Veep, I'd give them all the Emmys.

I know sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying, but corporate media WAKE UP. They fired the Nuclear Safety experts, They did. That's a top straight news story that should be leading all newscasts and in huge headlines on every major newspaper. Journalistically, that is just how it is. And now, as Rampell points out, THEY CAN'T HIRE THEM BACK because they lost their contact info!

Oh, and Dems might want to be screaming about this too.

It's a transactional world when only the 'princes of industry' hold power. And future wars will make the war lords of the Dark Ages look like puppies.

I guess you could say that Vance wants to destroy the country, too. There’s several who are doing Putin’s bidding. And the MAGAts think these people are patriots! When will Americans learn what this is all about?

far, far too fucking stupid to be in positions of power, or even eligible for it.

This country needs actual, strict qualifications for elected officials and their appointees, and it needed them fucking yesterday.

From Trump's first wack at President. Separating kids from parents as they enter America at the border?

They have no record of where they put the parents. Or vice versa.

Don't EVER understimate the power of stupidity. EVER!

It's much more powerful than intelligence.

And stupidity in power. That's just stupidity amplified.

And Trump's goes up to 11.*

It would be the height of entertainment if it weren't so scary. From Tiedrich this morning:
---------
This week, Anna Paulina Luna, Congresswoman from America’s Dangly Bit (as long as we’re renaming things), announced that she would be investigating the death of John F. Kennedy — and she plans on having quite the panel of expert witnesses.

“Based on what we’re actually looking to do with the JFK investigation, I’m looking to actually bring in some of the attending physicians, at the initial assassination, and also the people that had been on the various commissions — like the Warren Commission.”

Who wants to tell her?

Anna — all those people are dead. Everyone on the Warren Commission died decades ago. Gerald Ford was the last surviving member. He died in 2008.

What are you going to do, hold a fucking seance?

Suffice it to say, there are lovely, gentle, little old cat ladies on this forum with more spine and grit than those elected officials that bent the knee to tyranny in recent Senate confirmation hearings.
It appears that we must look to lovely, gentle, little old cat ladies for courage and leadership, 'cause we're not gonna get it from anyone paid to embody such stalwart qualities, are we, Lindsey, et al.

When you terminate someone you don't purge them from your HR system. You change their status from active to inactive and update a code for rehire considerations. You don't delete them. Indeed, they have payroll data needed for W-2 preparation for their partial-year employment. There should be no way on earth that this has happened unless they are too stupid to contact HR and ask them for this information.
