Canetoad and I put this list together in November, and we now have 159 individuals on it. My list is in chronological order. You can either search for your fellow DUers on my list by using your browser's search function, or you can scroll down to post #5 by Canetoad and view the list alphabetically.
If you would like to be added to this list, please respond to this post or send me a request through DU mail.
We will try to repost this list on a monthly basis for new members and those who may have missed it.
TIP: If you want other DU members to easily find you on Bluesky, simply include the hashtag #DemocraticUnderground in your Bluesky profile. This will allow them to quickly find you. Entering that hashtag in the Bluesky search box and then choosing "People" from the header will bring up all those who have included it in their profiles.
Here's the link to the list: https://democraticunderground.com/100219767403#post65
Update: to keep the replies manageable, I will send you confirmation via DU mail once you've been added to the list. I will also follow you on Bluesky prior to adding you to make sure your handle there is accurate. You will see me as @raycing.bsky.social on that platform.

(3,415 posts)Thank you. Might want to do the same for Mastodon. Independent, federated, not owned by bros. Should be less work as there are likely way fewer of us there. I am.

(7,600 posts)With a Starter Pack you can just click the "Follow all" button to follow everyone on the list.
Native
(7,073 posts)I haven't looked into it recently, but do you know if the starter packs can be made private yet?
Also, we came up with a work around....see post #44

(7,600 posts)As far as I know everything on Bluesky is public. It seems to be part of their philosophy, it's all open source & everything is visible to everyone, unless you block someone.
One nice thing about that is you can use apps like ClearSky to see what lists you're on & who is blocking you.
I look at my profile in ClearSky a few times a week because there are MAGAts who put me on lists with names like "Dumbass Libtards" & I can then block them. I also block back everyone who is blocking me.
I consider it good housekeeping.

(7,600 posts)There are a few people/Starter Packs I trust enough to click "Follow all." For example I would trust a DU member starter pack.
For most, I look at the profiles in the Pack, right-click on each one, "open in new tab", then look at the profile to vet it. Basically the same process I would use for a list.
But wait... you can "Pin to home" a list, is that why you like them better? I don't think you can do that with a Starter Pack, but you can "Copy link to list" on a List & "Share link" on a Starter Pack. 🤔

(38,299 posts)I like lists because they don't add content to my main feed. They are more topic/content oriented. For example, I follow a news list and a list of local journalists. I don't necessarily want everyone on those lists to be in my main feed (although, I am following several of them). It neatly keeps everything, content-wise, in one place.
CaptainTruth
(7,600 posts)I think I get that. You're following someone else's list, not just creating your own list where you add accounts to your own list but don't follow them?

(7,073 posts)DU Starter Pack on Bluesky. The capability to make those starter packs private was not available on their platform the last time I checked.
With our list, members have the option to participate or not, and they can also ask me or Canetoad to remove them from the list at any time.
I personally don't have an issue with transparently being tied to both platforms. The way I look at it, if they want to find me, they're going to do so, regardless of what handle I use on any platform. And I am now of the opinion that the current powers that be could find fault with just about everything I have posted or will post on DU and Bluesky. I mean, Secret Service agents went to a middle school to harass a student who posted unflattering comments about Trump on social media. Is anyone safe now? Their idea of breaking their laws is anything they choose it to be.
When it comes to my money? Well, that's a different scenario. LOL.
Respectfully,
