Early Wednesday evening, shortly before I published news of CNN's looming lineup changes, Jim Acosta received a peculiar telephone call from CNN chief Mark Thompson. Thompson, I'm told, delivered the veteran journalist a sudden and strange proposal: Move your show to midnight and anchor it until 2am ET.

8. Legacy Media

I love that phrase “legacy media.”

I feel bad for Acosta but it may be the best thing for him.

My 40 year old niece and her husband never watch legacy media - they don’t have time. Too busy with two jobs and three kids. They listen to pod casts while driving and in the gym.

So do my three oldest grandkids.

TV news is going the way of print newspapers and magazines. Maybe that’s not a bad thing.

I just don't see how 9 pm PT is a worse slot than 10am EST. I think that's a terrible slot. Who's watching news at 10am?

Give Scarborough and his whole lot to CNN and let Acosta take MSNBC in the morning. Have him start each day by reporting out and discussing every new Fox News lie of the previous day. Briana Keiler would be another good addition for MSNBC working the morning shows with Acosta.

These are some good moves that could be made during Comcast’s spin off of MSNBC to strengthen MSNBC’s liberal/progressive messaging. Scarborough needs to be dumped.
