He carried a black briefcase to his 10th-grade honors English class, and sat near the door so he could readily slip in and out. When called upon, he was intelligent, but nervous and fidgety, spitting his words out, as if having to speak up were painful.
Pale, tall and scrawny, Adam Lanza walked through high school in Newtown, Conn., with his hands glued to his sides, the pens in the pocket of his short-sleeve, button-down shirts among the few things that his classmates recalled about him.
He did all he could to avoid attention, it seemed.

Apparently just misunderstood. Instead of bonkers.
The kind of whitewash you'd expect from the New York Times.

This may turn out to be an accurate picture of his life up to a couple of years ago. Time will tell.

People want to understand how this stuff happens. What should they do? Dig around to find out if he cut the heads off of tadpoles?

The Times lied through their teeth to support Dubya's claims about WMD's, their credibility is not what it once was.

Gee, is that your intelligent, nuanced, SANE interpretation?
And everybody wonders why people avoid getting help for their mental health issues.

have always been made fun of. High IQ is linked to Sensory Processing Disorder (30% of gifted kids have it) and that alone makes people anxiety ridden and have difficulty in "normal" situations. At least now they are catching it and recognize it so the kids can adjust a little and get some OT.
