I am sorry, but I am not going to deal with this hopelessness anymore

I get it, be sad. It is OK to be sad. I am sad.

But I keep seeing that it's all over.

Over?

I'm sorry friends, but "Over" is only going to happen when they force-feed me polonium or do a Dylann Roof to me, and they're going to look me in the eyes to do it. Then and only then is it "Over".

I can't be the only one who feels this way.

I also see people want to fight, so let's fight. If I am not mistaken, this is still the country of revolutionaries, abolitionists, the Underground Railroad, John Brown, suffragists, labor activists, muckrakers, civil rights activists, student activists, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, anti-war activists, antifa, and Heather Heyer.

It's our turn now.

Is that what we're afraid of?

I'm not.

And you shouldn't be afraid either, and if you're not...

I have a request. I'm working on a project. If you are interested, send me a PM, the project will take time, it will take more than days, it may even take more than weeks. But I'll give you a brief synopsis and keep you in the loop.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall.
Think of it--always.

But how long will it take? I have been thinking for a long time that all of human history can be summed up as one thousand steps forward, and 999 steps backward. Well, Tuesday we went about 500 steps backward. I wonder how long it will take to make up those lost steps? Eventually, though, we will. As you said, the way of truth and love will always prevail. Eventually.

are the expected human response, they can be absolutely detrimental to the path forward.
I'm just as disappointed as anyone else, but being disappointed is a lot different that preaching about camps, Nazis, and the end of Democracy. Maybe some just need to get the anger out of their system, and I can accept that. But we should all commit to regroup ourselves very quickly, leave this behind, and and then start looking for the path forward. What we've done (as a whole) for a very long time now has only hurt us. We should think about that and decide if it's worth continuing on by doing the same things.
I've seen a lot of "I'll never accept xxxx" lately. I hope that is just the temporary anger, because if we are to have any hope of regaining control of this ship, we are going to have to make concessions with people we do not agree with on some things. We are going to have to accept some things that we do not agree with. If we do not, we will be left with absolutely nothing. And no, nobody likes that, not even the other side, but that is exactly how our system of government was designed, and we are going to have to get back to working with what we DO have, rather than demanding absolutes that we will never have.

I mourned for about 12 hours then accepted it as reality. Now, we have to concentrate on what we’re doing to move forward and try and counter these idiots wherever we may.

While it may seem hopeless at this moment-- the bottom line is 65% of Americans voted & it was basically split 50-50! That means Trump only received 33% of our total population!! Let's start working on the '26 House & Senate races & increase our voting numbers!! We can get it all back in '28!!!!

We all get knocked down, the measure of a person's character is how quickly they get back up. I'm working on it.

I stood over him and yelled "get the fuck up, you loser. The accident is done, so quit lying there feeling sorry for yourself."

It really seemed to help him feel better about things.

They’re accused of foolishness or self-indulgence for daring to bleed when they’ve been stabbed, ridiculed when they pause for breath to ask “what just happened?”

I see no value in such scolding, other than the false thrill of righteous superiority that it grants to the scold.

If anyone honestly looks at the world - even if it's only their corner of the world -and thinks they cannot be a force for good in it and effect change, then they will not effect change and they will not do good. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. And what's the end game there? "Ha! I told me so!"

Fortunately, most people will get back to work quickly. I'm already there. Trying to figure out how we can course correct so that we do better next time. The people in my life are doing their things.

I won't say "Everything's going to be fine," because there are a lot of people who are going to experience hardship in the coming years and trite sentiments such as that diminish that reality. But I will say, "Everything will not end, and we still have the ability and the opportunity to make tomorrow better."

Misery loves company. Fortunately, I'm not one much for attending parties.
