No, this isnt a matter of an incumbant vs a challenger. Tsf was an incumbant in his party. An incumbant who was challenged.
When an incumbant is challenged, it usually doesnt end well.
Our side was not in disarray.

(18,092 posts)If I were to adopt the persona of a right-wing individual, my primary objective would remain unchanged: achieving victory. It raises the question of why they would not choose a candidate in his 40's, and one who possesses greater intelligence.
I suppose that you are correct. Regardless of my efforts to understand their perspective, I find it challenging to comprehend their thoughts. It is likely that they believe Trump would perform more favorably in the General Election compared to Ron.
