Newt Gingrich: GOP 'Incapable Of Competing" If Hillary Runs In 2016

From The Huffington Post:

"Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regularly brushes off the idea of a 2016 presidential bid. But if she were to run, at least one prominent Republican thinks his party would be completely outmatched.

"The Republican party is incapable of competing at that level," Gingrich said during an appearance on NBC's "Meet The Press. "First of all, she's very formidable as a person," he said. "She's a very competent person. She's married to the most popular Democrat in the country; they both think [it] would be good for her to be president. It makes it virtually impossible to stop her for the nomination."

Thoughts?

It is because they know that the gop base still has a wish to punish her, and that the left still gags at the mention of the name "Clinton"...

Pres.Obama would endorse her, and with Obama's endorsement will go his entire OFA social media team, OFA ground team, donors, and Obama's HUGE voting bloc's. She will have huge financial backing, experience, and the historical-ness of being our Nations first female Prez. She also has a bit of that rock-star in her & can handle the media. I'm not saying she's my first choice for 2016, that would be Trumka/Krugman (seriously) but in terms of political strategy she would probably get the nomination after winning most of the primaries pretty early on.

except, of course, himself. She would be his dream opponent, as he could counter slime attacks on himself by sliming her with all the Bill crap the GOP has in its archive. I hope that the DEMs skip down 1 or 2 generations and find a fresh candidate. That would paralyze the GOP has they fight to recycle one of their nasty old men.

I used to favor Gillibrand, but she hasn't distinguished herself in the Senate as I had hoped. Coming up are Joe Kennedy III, Julian Castro, Joaquin Castro, and Patrick Murphy of Florida (am concerned that he is fiscally conservative, I would prefer a fiscal moderate), and Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania, Kristin Sinema of Arizona, Tulsi Gabbard and others that have not yet reached national prominence.

The Repubs are entirely out of step with a majority of the American voters, and judging by their comments, they've done little or no introspection. They still believe that Hurricane Sandy won the election for Obama.

The best thing going for Republicans is that they have 4 years to work things out, and that's a very loooooonnnggg time in politics.

If that's how they truly feel, then why did they waste all their time going after Susan Rice when Clinton heads the State Dept?
Does anyone else think all the compliments and praise coming from the GOP is a little strange?
