that BOTH Cheney's should have stood up long before they finally did, along with countless other Republican Politicians......

They all, for years created their own version of Frankenstein's Monster, as he raged out of control. Same thing with the Hijacking of their beloved, old guard, Republican Party.

For FOUR + years, they all voted in lock step, every day, every week, every month, every year with their self created "Monster".
And THEIR Monster spawned hundreds of Monster Senators, Monster House members, Monster Governors, etc etc etc.

Right now, probably the ONLY thing bigger would be a major current MAGA backer do a 180. Who? I dont know. Not a Cruz or Rubio; it'd be easy for trump to dismiss them.
Maybe a Musk. Maybe (but never happen) a hannity level. Maybe Speaker Johnson.

I'd say there's a possibility that near election day George W Bush speaks out. Better then than now IMO

but Dick Cheney took his sweet time in saying A SINGLE F'ing THING when "RepubliCON" CABAL went after his very own Daughter, and just finally in the last month said anything about the Monster HE helped create.

He is the Epitome of the DEVIL, along with Rumsfeld, etc. It was seldom mentioned, that he met NOT A SINGLE criteria required for a Heart Transplant, but was given one anyway, and in fact, went to the top of the list nationwide....... It was rumored the surgeons, upon opening his chest, found a heart shaped heart of solid Black, titanium, cold to the touch..........

13. I've long believed the GOP missed a HUGE opportunity with Dick when W was pres;

I told my friends at the time that if they were smart, Cheney would resign 1/2way thru W's 2nd term "due to health reasons"; which wouldve been totally believable. W picks Condi Rice as his VP; a very competent person. Then in '08, Rice would run for Pres & pick Tom Ridge as her VP. Ridge was a former Marine, Gov of PA (HUGE EC state), 1st head of Homeland Security. So she'd have the "tough guy" to back her up; while she's well versed on foreign affairs, especially Russia.
If THAT wouldve been a ticket I think it wouldve gone a LOT further than Sarah Palin & McCain

The only thing I am knowledgeable about, with any you mentioned, would be to disagree with your thinking about Condi Rice being a very competent person.........

We here in Colorado, esp Denver, have a very different opinion of her knowledge/abilities, especially her college professors......

Her college professors specifically mentioned her knowledge and focus on Russia was antiquated, and not at all the current (at the time), "bigger picture"......They also said, she was extremely limited in her overall knowledge of all the world affairs, even ones that involved Russia.......

When Clinton and Gore were leaving office, they tried desperately to give Condi Rice and Dick Cheney growing massive intelligence what was the top priority of what was going on at the time. They commented at the time, that she kept trying to direct the conversation to Russia, Russia, Russia, her area of focus. Clinton and Gore were telling her, over and over again.......... Alquida, Alquida, Alquida..(sp?)

Needless to say, it would have been great if whoever took office had listened to them.

Gore had also done a great job of analyzing airport security across the nation, and how it should be quickly improved. In his in depth report, he pointed out that by far and away, the absolute worst security at any airport in the entire nation, was at Logan International Airport..........................

Al Quada was definitely a threat as well & ignored till it was too late. Sometimes I think they may have had the feeling I did when I saw a documentary in the 90s about them. It was mentioned that they wanted to use planes as weapons & I thought "Oh, they'd NEVER be able to pull THAT off". But the warnings were there.

the Republican's PNAC doctrine in the late 90's......It was a massive list of all they wanted to accomplish in the New American Century.
There is one line in it, that said: Of course, without something like a Pearl Harbor, it will take decades to implement this list.

I definitely feel they allowed the 9/11 to occur, to fulfill their wish, and speed up their PNAC Agenda...... The owners of flight schools were screaming to the FBI that there were mid-east individuals enrolled in their schools and ONLY INTERESTED IN *FLYING* COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT, (a rather small part of training compared to take off's and landings). REPEATEDLY, the local FBI agents notified Louis Freigh? head of the FBI to no avail.....
