Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Crash Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Dinner in Union Square![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://blogs.sfweekly.com/thesnitch/2012/12/sisters_of_perpetual_indulgenc.php You can count on San Francisco to keep things real, and last night the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence didn't just keep it real, they kept it really entertaining. Was it a coincidence that the sisters had dinner reservations next to the very conservative Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio (aka "America's Toughest Sheriff" ![]() It appeared that Arpaio, the sheriff who was proud to support Arizona's controversial anti-illegal immigration law, wasn't too thrilled to be dining that close to the salacious sisters, who were grabbing a bite before the annual Drag Queens on Ice show.

4. Wow. Blast from the far far past.
Had forgotten and did not know that the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence still existed.
Edit to add: Was going to say someone would write a history and looked at wiki. http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=edit&forum=1002&thread=1942507&pid=1942776 My earliest memories must have been of the Cockettes rather than the Sisters. |

16. Probably fund raising.
They (conservatives) all like to talk about how they hate California, and how the state is bankrupt, but they all come here looking for money. Even Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney fund-raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.

15. I love John's Grill. I also love the good sisters. I don't even kind a like the Arpaio.
John's Grill is mentioned in the novel The Maltese Falcon. Sam Spade has chops. Hammett had an office up stairsin the Flood Building which is where John's Grill is located.

19. Ah, how well I remember the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
when I lived in SF in the 70s and early 80s. Those reverend ladies with glitter galore in their beards and bras as head wimple always focused my gaze in complete fascination. No SF Gay Pride Parade would ever be complete without them. '
