(1,213 posts)Not a willing bootlicker for fascism.
The oligarch-owned media can't have that.

(7,774 posts)Jeeze, these youtube "reaction" videos are fine when the "reactor" is a small box in a corner, but half the screen? No thanks.

(18,263 posts)The left side of the screen was mostly fairly static head and shoulders shots, but the guy on the right had his face filling up most of the screen part of the time and was bouncing back and forth at other times. That made his reactions even more distracting than they would have been otherwise. Drove me nuts!
I ended up using my hand to block my view of the right side of the screen, so I could concentrate on what the moderator and the debaters were saying.
He made it more about him than the actual content. His comment at the end was fine. The rest was over the top. Ugh.

(845 posts)...when your reporters/moderators aren't worried about being one of the Cool Kids who can cozy up to the folks in power as "pals" when the cameras aren't on. This man should be gotten on loan to host the ABC debate. He'll ask better, tougher questions of BOTH candidates than Martha Raddish and George Suckenupalist, or whomever they get who won't be the lady from the NABJ conference.
ABCs?Rachel Scott is one of a few pure journalists. She, this gentleman, Jonathan Alter or Lawrence ODonnell will never be tapped for Presidential debates.
Martha Radish and George Suckenapolis!
Perfect descriptions of those worthless pos.

(112,983 posts)I don't think TFG is capable of answering questions in a timely manner without going off on tangents and saying what he wants to say in the moment, to hell with the business at hand. For one thing, he's rarely had to. For another, that ability is now beyond him.
But yeah, we all dream of having a real debate with a real moderator presiding over it. It's just not going to happen with TFG.
We haven't seen decent moderation since the debates were taken away from the League of Women Voters.

(15,998 posts)He's good. He reminds me of that old joke about the politician who's suddenly looking for the back door when told that Mike Wallace/60 Minutes is at the front door.

(3,243 posts)The debate took place on May 29. Over a month later, a DU OP linked clips from the debate. Thereafter, in another DU thread, I posted my opinion that Kyle Clark should be the moderator of any and all future presidential debates this year.
I enjoyed Mr. Clark's line, "Are you apologizing for your behavior or for lying?"

(1,396 posts)Channel 9 evening news Denver. During the last couple minutes of every show, he reads comments, both positive and negative, sent in about content in that newscast. His responses are non-scripted and sometimes hilarious.
Kyle's broadcast is the only local news I watch and I've been a fan since it began several years ago.
He's hired!
