It would never have occurred to trump to play it like, "It's just a scratch. I didn't even go to the doctor." My dad and

many other WWII vets didn't even turn in their wounds for purple hearts unless they were put out of action. Really common. They were tough guys. Purple Hearts were for the guys that were really hurt bad.

Just enough of a bandage to be visible if he even really needed one. If it was me and the hair covered it, I would leave it open to air if it wasn't bleeding. I wouldn't blame any presidential candidate for having a visible bandage under those circumstances though. Our side would do it too. There just wouldn't be the whole cult shitshow around it.

.....the GIs loved because it told the folks backs home what their wartime experiences were really like. The cartoons caption (if it doesn't come up) was "Just gimme a couple of aspirin, I already got a purple heart."
