The police in and around Butler have a reputation of being lazy, incompetent, and corrupt (former chief of Butler Township specifically).
I have had dealings with the police, not me being arrested or in trouble.
I was frustrated after every time I dealt with them.

The BBC ID'ed the 2 who were shot as
David Dutch
snip-"...Jennifer Veri-Grazier[his sister] told the New York Times that the 57-year-old suffered damage to his liver and broken ribs in the shooting and has had to have more than one operation.
She described him as a long-time Trump supporter."
snip-"James Copenhaver
Mr Copenhaver, 74, is from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, and was a registered Democrat, the New York Times reports."

Do you have any info on how the 2 men are doing?

(20,891 posts)because the pay is too low. Small towns are staffed with rookies, cops who can't get hired anywhere else and cops approaching retirement who don't want the daily grind of working in an active city. Corruption is high because of opportunity and the fact that they are underpaid.
I have a cousin who was a Houston cop. After he retired, he got a job as a police chief in a small town in South Texas. He cracked down on all the corruption and they fired him.

I will also say that everyone working on the rally was encouraged to speak up if they saw anything they were uncomfortable with. What happened at the tRump rally, I don't know. Hopefully the investigation can determine what went wrong.
