If it was 60% of the popular vote (enough for a filibuster), I'd say reasonable majority. But it wasn't 60%. If it was 75% I'd give you VAST majority.

I can give you SIMPLE majority, but that's about it. Obama did not win the popular vote by a landslide.

Bush staked his claim to a broad mandate and announced his top priorities at a post-election news conference, saying his 3.5 million vote victory had won him political capital that he would spend enacting his conservative agenda.

"I earned capital in this campaign, political capital, and now I intend to spend it," Bush told reporters. "It is my style."

that the savings come from allowing medicare to negotiate drug prices (like Canada). It is not actually a cut in benefits in that the people get the same meds, we just pay less for them. It is just like the savings that come from removing 716 billion of excess insurance company profits from the system. The benefits are the same, just insurance companies make less money providing them.

I'm so tired of democrats making that gop argument ... even after having it being spelled out for more than 3 years, in the context of ObamaCare. Nothing has changed!

Since the Republican want to cut Medicare/Medicaid I think we should cut both but cut them just for the people who voted Republican after all if the Republican want it cut so bad then they should be the ones who get cut. Lets see how that fly with the GOP voters. LOL

When Republicans win an election, Democrats must completely capitulate because "elections have consequences"

however when Democrats win it is the Democrats who must compromise in the "spirit of bipartisanship"
