I had to buy a few groceries about an hour ago. When I went inside, I happened to walk in at the same time as some guy wearing a red (of course) T-shirt that read, "UN-VAXXED AND UNASHAMED".
Sigh. Why do they love announcing themselves so much? They wonder why women aren't flocking to them?

He no longer lives here. He's in a nursing home, incapacitated by long covid.

(3,363 posts)Another time, a couple of years ago, I literally backed away from a guy in Walmart who was wearing a shirt that read, "Guns, God and T****". Those people are scary and MEAN.

(2,763 posts)We saw a truck all decked out with Confederate flags, slogans, etc.
He admitted to me that seeing trucks decorated like that mafe him a bit nervous.
I told him that I understood where he was coming from, but instead he should be happy that the stupid racist people were doing us a favor by identifying themselves. He agreed and smiled.
I didn't have the heart to tell him that I was more worried about the racists that kept quiet and looked like everyone else... {sigh}

(50,568 posts)I like knowing which people to avoid and if they advertise their nuttery, it is very helpful.
Yes, I've always been more concerned about those who don't advertise, but have serious problems and possibly an arsenal of weapons in the basement. That often describe mass shooters - "He was always such a quiet neighbor, never bothered a soul".

(37,251 posts)But I hadn't thought about reporting friend requests.
The last time I tried, I wasn't allowed to - it was one of the clone accounts and I as told that the person whose account was cloned had to report it. Since a friend just asked me to report a clone of their account I did, and discovered they have changed the reporting to allow it. This isn't the same scenario, but I'll have to try it next time.
And I definitely report any random obnoxious behavior in groups I'm in. Since one of them is a cancer support group there are a lot of snake oil sales people - as well as people posting a lot of expressly Christian advice (despite there being a ban on evangelism).

(53,544 posts)Posting irrelevant material. I always report her to group admins.
What I find is there are some that post a slew of stuff almost constantly on their page. I will mostly snooze them.
They post a bunch flower photos or car photos, etc. It is not over a number of days but all within hours or less.

(37,251 posts)I post a lot of pictures of my tomatoes and my deck garden. Since I retired, I started saving seeds from one year to the next and growing my stuff from seeds. So I'm keeping track of my gardening calendar for myself, as well as finding homes for all my extra plants. I sent between 50 and 100 tomatoes to friends and/or community gardens - the latter to people who requested them via facebook.
I generally post once a week, or at most every few days. Not multiple posts within hours.

There are two ways to do it. Either use the online site but you need their dob.
Or call the county Democratic Party and ask them if they can confirm he is not registered. Let them know he is deceased.

(73,464 posts)...(since moved away, but alive) told me he wasn't getting vaccinated because he would let his immune system handle it.
I told him that's what vaccines actually do. They don't destroy viruses, they teach the immune system to do it.
Didn't get it, didn't care.

(25,475 posts)A guy came up to me and said you dont have to wear a mask, Covid is a hoax. So I pretended to take it off and started fake coughing and said I had a sore throat and felt achy. The guy turned around and trotted off quickly away from me! I was laughing inside so hard. My husband and son were in another part of the store and I found them and told them the story, my husband was cracking up also!

(13,968 posts)... makes some people proclaim, "If my flag/cross/patriotism offends you, then leave." They imagine that they are SOOO offensive to liberals, and that liberals are just SOOO offended. And they WANT to offend. And to be feared. It's weird, them living in their own little world where they are some kind of badass. Is this some kind of complex? I just pity them, but I think pity is not the feeling they imagine a liberal would have around them.

(25,308 posts)Our county health board gives data on how many people in the county are hospitalized with covid. Those numbers are usually very low.
The health dept. also does wastewater testing for different parts of the county and shows a graph of each area. The graph for my city showed a line starting to move upward in mid May. After Memorial Day, the line is much longer on a steep upward climb. I'm guessing that it's due to the new flirt variants.
Just got my second bivalent shot on Tuesday.
