Is The "War On Christmas" One Of The Right Wing's Dumbest Straw Men

Well, that or hippies spitting on returning soldiers in the 60s.

I don't think your garden variety lefty gives a rat's ass how many Christmas trees, nativity scenes, and Santas he or she sees...

The only bow I make to the "War On Christmas" is if I send a Season's Greeting card it doesn't have a religious theme.

You sent a "Season's Greeting" card?! That's the major apostasy of the "war" crowd! It's liberal! It's rational! It's aimed at giving no offense. It's everything they hate!

Yes, they celebrated both Hanukkah and Christmas. I should send them TWO cards???? They got ONE Happy Holidays card.

If we give them any recognition in this they respond with "bring it on". If we ignore them they will continue to paint us as ungodly. It's a lose lose.

I've seen too many FB posts that say something like "I say Merry Christmas and I don't care who I offend"

Excuse me? Who is offended by "Merry Christmas"?

It's not that I hate or even dislike it; I just don't really care anymore. I don't feel depressed and lonely, it just doesn't register any kind of special feeling like it used to. Same way one who doesn't care at all about sports would think of the superbowl.

The media hype getting worse, and coming earlier sure didn't help.

Really, the "war" thing is just a reliable meme cons and fundies dig up to keep the base stirred up.
