Verdict in the New York case

"Your Honor, we have a divided jury. Six of us say he's Guilty, two Incredibly Guilty, two Fucking Guilty, one Guilty as Hell and one So Guilty There Aren't Words To Describe It."

"Jury, you are hereby ordered to return to the jury room and unify your findings."

...ten minutes later...

"Have you reached a united verdict, foreman?"

"Your Honor, we have. We've decided he's Guilty as Hell, so say we all."

"Do you have a recommended sentence?"

"Nothing that wouldn't violate the Eighth Amendment, Your Honor, but we'll be okay with it if you give him thirty years in Sing Sing."

"What sentences that violate the Eighth Amendment did you come up with?"

"Juror Eight recommended we stuff him in a 55-gallon oil drum and throw him over Niagara Falls. We all thought that was a good idea. Juror Six recommended the guillotine, but we quashed that because none of us know how to make one and the French National Museum won't loan us theirs."

"I don't think I can go along with the oil drum idea, as creative as it is. I mean, come on. You've seen him, right? How would we get him in it?"

"How about welding two barrels together? That would work."

"It would, but I'm going to stick to your original suggestion and just put him in prison. Bailiff, record a verdict of Guilty as Hell and take him away."

I've seen African porcupine quills that can go through the sole of a boot.

New World porcupines are unrelated, and their quills aren't as sturdy - though they might be able to pierce a diaper, the average diaper being somewhat softer than the sole of a boot.

(Useless trivia - the North American porcupine is the only native North American member of a group that arose and flourished in South America. It includes modern guinea pigs, capybaras, chinchillas, and many more. And some of their extinct relatives were about the size of a Mini Cooper. Nutria are part of this group, but populations in North America were introduced - they're invasive.)

I would object to bringing TFG in contact with a porcupine, regardless of its origin, only because it would violate the dignity of the porcupine.

...that he's guilty of a felony. If it wasn't for two attorneys on the jury, I'd imagine a possible hung jury. Anyone 'unsure' on that jury is going to have the law explained to them in a way they can't argue with. Just sayin'.

Even though following the trial closely it seems obvious to me he paid off multiple people and why.

I’m not worried about an acquittal. But I am definitely worried about MAGA jury members refusing to vote guilty no matter what.

He’s lucky like that.

who interviewed people who knew him and his family, as well as former classmates and instructors. It was published during the 2016 campaign.

A neighbor of his family reported that she caught and stopped 5 year old Donald from throwing a rock at her baby in a playpen in her yard.

At best it might be a hung jury on some charges. That is based on what has happened so far in court.

Isn't there usually a delay between a verdict and the sentence? Also, if his lawyers file an appeal, which they will certainly do, I think that he will remain out on bail until the appeal decision is made. Then there will be another appeal to the highest state court if they don't win the first appeal.

People who expect him to be in jail after this verdict will be disappointed.

...but considering that he's a significant flight risk - he DOES own an airliner with intercontinental range, and he has A LOT of supporters who own tons of guns - they may hold him pending sentencing.

The sad part in all this is that we are actually considering throwing a former president of the United States in prison. The Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves over this - they believed we would always have honorable men as presidents, and Trump hasn't been "honorable" since before his daddy shipped him off to military school.

Because it was a criminal case, a ALL 10?Jurors need to agree on a guilty decision. Otherwise the person is acquitted with no Double Jeapordy for another trial.....

With the incredible number of Trump Humpers running around America, it probably would be impossible to seat a jury without one of them.........

And screw the prison being sing sing.......He, above any other criminal incarcerated, should be placed in Colorado Super-Max.....

One of the prisoner classes they lock up in Supermax are ones that present special security issues...like, say, a prisoner Bubba plans to throw over the second-tier guardrail at the earliest possible opportunity because what Bubba did to get locked up in there was legal until the prisoner in question banned it.

And the OJ trial had idiot prosecutors.

Either guilty or not guilty verdict need unanimity among the jurors. If they can't get there, Trump could spend another 6 weeks in front of a new jury -- even deeper into campaign season.

Wouldn't he be put into a prison in NY if convicted, and if he loses all his appeals?

Not sure, but I don't think that people convicted of a state law violation go to a prison out of state.
