Tom Ricks To MSNBC: ‘You’re Just Like Fox, But Not As Good At It’

Tom Ricks To MSNBC: ‘You’re Just Like Fox, But Not As Good At It’

Author Tom Ricks had some choice words for Fox News earlier this week, but the former Pulitzer Prize winner doesn't much care for the left-leaning cable news alternative either.

Following his much-discussed interview with Fox on Monday — during which he criticized the network's coverage of the September attack in Benghazi — Ricks was approached by MSNBC for an interview.

“MSNBC invited me, but I said, ‘You’re just like Fox, but not as good at it,’" Ricks told the Washington Post on Tuesday. "They wrote back and said, ‘Thank you for your candor.’”

The media pundits, like McCain, are making fools of themselves.

McCain descends further into incoherence

MSNBC doesn't deny it and they do it as an obvious response to the partisan FOX News. They were not always on the "left" side.

They're complicated.

Their personalities at night are good lefties . . . . except very one of them toes a certain line that shall not be crossed. When they are told not to cover a story, they don't cover a story. In that specific, narrow regard, they are as controlled as anyone on Fox.

Let him say his piece. That's the difference between MSNBC and FOX. We can handle the truth. His interview wouldn't be cut short.

I suppose if you compare it to manure factories like Fox & CNBC and Republican Lite outlets like CNN, I could see that. Do "left-leaning" stations have Morning Joe, Dylan Ratigan and Sippy Cupp?

Current is the most left leaning, IMHO. I will peak into MSNBC sometimes like for Rachel, Ed, The Reverend, and even Tweetie, but not that often.

When I want political news it is usually Current for me.

She will let him say his piece and then skillfully rebut. Maddow is opposite Hannity at Fox. Now which of the two can actually think? The differences between the two is laughable. Maddow was probably smarter as a 6 year old than Hannity is today.

MSNBC including Maddow were on Obama after the first debate like a pack of wolves. They were, in general, right. You could never expect such candor from Fox.

You do have partisan hacks on MSNBC as well. She is far smarter than Matthews, Schultz, and Sharpton. Ezra Klein is also very sharp.

....wolf-pack mentality displayed by Tweety, Big Head Ed and the rest of the MSNBC talking heads during and after the first debate.

I'm constantly amazed people keep forgetting that Romney gave a ton of ammunition to the Obama Campaign during that first debate. Additionally, most people weren't fooled into believing a lying, no-substance, flip-flopper won that first debate.
