Not a good time for some GOPers

Former Central Florida state rep accused of hitting wife with bedspread

Life has been no bed of roses for some politicians lately.

Or maybe this man just got up on the wrong side of the bed on his birthday.

Baxter Troutman, of Winter Haven, a former GOP state representative, is accused of throwing a bedspread and hitting his wife in the face on Sunday night -- his birthday, reports The Ledger in Lakeland.

His wife allegedly told deputies the comforter hit her in the face; Baxter Troutman reportedly said it didn't hit her.

subterfuge. It was always smoke and mirrors, and the standard Republican voter bought it.

I've seen some heavy duty comforters, but, I would imagine they would smother you in your sleep if they were too heavy.

I read the story. Did he throw a comforter and then punch his wife or did he hit her with a comforter? I'm not saying throwing things at your wife is OK but if it is just a "he hit her with a comforter" that's a little odd.

My wife would laugh her ass of if in a fit of rage I threw our bed blanket at her. I'm just confused here.

Now, some comforters can really pack a punch when they are compressed that way.

That might make sense since it would be heavy with a hard plastic cover.

I was just trying to envision me taking our down comforter and fitfully wadding it up as fast as I can to hurl at my wife. But then I envision as I'm hurling it that it just sort of quickly unfolds and flutters to the floor 3 feet from my body with my wife laughing at me.

Unless you have a good set of biceps, that would be difficult to do, and injure a person.
