It is exactly what we predicted. It will continue to escalate. In a relatively short time, it is likely the judge will impose fines, starting with the low levels that many here will view as meaningless ..... say, $1,000, then $5,000, etc. But that is the way it works, and the prosecutors recognize this.

As afar as a court ruling, keep in mind that a percentage of murderers get away with it in this country. They either aren't identified, or law enforcement lacks the evidence to convict them, or in some cases, they are found "not guilty" in court. But they are still murderers.
