Simple, dumb downed messaging.

Simply put is you don’t fracture NATO over dues. Only an idiot would propose that. And even more important American Presidents do not assist dictators like Putin in destroying American Democracy or the United States.

I get the feeling from my increasingly cash strapped friends and neighbors that they're really getting sick of their tax money going to prop up the rest of the world while so much needs doing here at home.

Does anyone else sense a certain fatigue of endless wars and seemingly endless migration to this country when countless numbers of our own are literally living in makeshift tents on our streets?

Endless wars would be what would happen if Trump dissolved NATO as he desires to do.

And the US has benefitted tremendously both in terms of economkic gains and preventing Russia from expanding by being the lead country on NATO. No one is behind on dues, just some countries don't spend as much on their own militaries as we would like, but the US is really fine with that. We really don't want a huge military build up in Europe, nothing good can come from it. So while we want our allies to shoulder the load on military missions, we aslo kind of give them a wink wink on not becoming super powers because we don't klnow if we'll always be able to be on the same side as all of them.

It's been stable for generations and the US and the world has enjoyed unprecedented peace because of NATO. And Russia hates it because they desire to invade their neighbors.

Since Herbert Walker Bush invaded Iraq in 1991?
We're still fighting that battle to this day.
Ok, that's only 30 years, not "endless" yet, what has been gained?
20 years in Vietnam. What was accomplished?
BTW, we're still in Korea.

NATO agreements require certain amounts be contributed to defense, Europe's defense! We can no longer shoulder that burden alone.

Losing those would cause more economic strife. So, yeah we are the leader of the world and I prefer it stay that way and we don’t quibble over dues.

Border problems? Build The Wall!

Schools underperforming? Ban Books!

Homeless crisis? Round them up and put them in detention camps!

Inflation? Corporate Tax Cuts!

Fentanyl poisonings? Cut the budget for Customs Agency!

Federal deficits? Cut taxes for the rich!

Insurrectionists taking over the Republican Party? Lock Up Hunter Biden!

They aren't interested in actual solutions to actual problems. All they want is a gimmick, a stunt, a soundbite that they can serve up to their enthralled base.
