***NEW*** Three in ten Trump voters wants a criminal as president

It’s been evident for a long time that Republicans — and supporters of Donald Trump, especially — take a more no-holds-barred approach to politics than Democrats do. They’re much more likely to say political violence can be justified, for instance. It’s also become clear that Trump being convicted of a felony isn’t a red line for the vast majority of them.

But for apparently the first time, we can affix a number to the percentage of them who agree that Trump breaking the law for political ends is okay.

About 3 in 10.

That’s the finding of a new Fox News poll this weekend. It phrased the question thusly:

It's not that they want a criminal as president. They want Trump, regardless of whether or not he's a criminal.

The results make it sound like they'd want or accept a generic criminal as president, but everyone knows that the question - and their response - is really about Trump.

or join independents and those who were either too young or apathetic to vote in 2020. Which should give Biden enough votes to contribute to Trump's third consecutive popular vote loss.
