Seriously, someone explain to me what Susan Rice has done to piss off the GOP

Because it doesn't make sense to me.

I mean I know the GOP is still trying to make a 9/11 out of Benghazi. But you'd think that Susan Rice jilted the GOP on a date or forgot to pay back the $5 she borrowed from them the way they are acting.

I mean I know they could find some dimwit caribou barbie who got her degree after attending 6 colleges in 5 years but well, we here at the Democratic Party like to appoint highly qualified and intelligent women.

I'm going to guess that the reasons she's so objectionable to them are:

- She was nominated by President Obama.

Being a black woman isn't helping her with the angry/crazy faction, either.

Successful at the UN and within Unicef, Clinton protege, young, might free up Hillary for a Presidential run or if Mrs Rodham-Clinton decides not to run might be able do so herself after some Congressional experience.

Now what might the GOP see as undesirable? Even Hillary misses on some of these trigger points.

Obama could have nominated anyone they would have had an identical reaction. The particulars of why they were "outraged" that that person would be nominated would have shifted but that's it.

if it wasn't susan rice it still wouldn't matter it would be some one else.

It is both personal and not personal at the same time weird huh? see first it is not personal, the gop is looking for anything. John Mac-Insane and the other whiner are the 2012 version of Newt whatever his name is and Ken Star. They are on a witch hunt. So it did not start out personal who ever was stuck making the talking point was going to be the target of the gop attack. Then it gets personal. Now Rice was the one that made the talking points so she was the target and now she is being attacked personally as well as professionally. Rather unfairly if I might add and that is also an extremely under statement.

The gop needs to stop, this is the way wrong venue to point their rage. This only makes us as a country look weak. This whinny group of gop brats are under mining our national security.

I think the Rethugs simply hope to destroy Obama now. They don't have a lot to lose and a whole lot to gain by simply stopping Obama getting anything done in his second term.

Impeachment means Congressional business grinds to a halt for 2+ years. That would suit the Rethug spin machine (that will beat the impeachment drums relentlessly during that time), AND hamstring Obama's agenda.

Lose, lose for everyone but way worse for us (and Obama)...

and he didn't say anything that could come anywhere near that. The closest they could find was something she said, that didn't apologize for the movie either, but it's all they've got. They are hoping to get Obama through her but it isn't working. "She was speaking for the administration." And if they find any way to pin it on her, they will next try to find a way to connect it to him.

They no better than to go after Hillary. They are using Susan Rice to get to Obama.

The reason this sounds so crazy is because it is. They have nothing, but will try to
tie up Congress, Obama and monopolize the MSM with investigations and pure bullshit.

Democrats need to continue stressing the budget cuts caused by Repcons that directly
affected the budget for security. Dr. Rice was given talking points the CIA had provided
the WH. Hillary was unavailable so she took her place on the Sun. talk shows and provided
the information she had been given.

Until the Intelligence Community had a firm grasp of what precisely had happened,
it would have been irresponsible to get on national TV and divulge information that
had not been thoroughly vetted and confirmed. Even then, that information could
have been sensitive and put other embassies at risk. And that is assuming there was
information other than what Dr. Rice had been given.

I don't know if it's just me, but since when is the general public given play by play
updates on sensitive intelligence on an ongoing investigation? Sorry for the rant
but their desperation to smear Obama and manufacture a scandal is just unprecedented.

Oh, while being female and black.

They've drawn their line in the sand. President Obama tried bi-partisanship in his last term. He also made the mistake of not defending (I'm sorry, I've totally forgotten her name AND her dept. but I'm sure many here will remember and fill in the blank. was it HUD? she'd helped a lot of people and done a great job) last term.

He's made it clear that he's not going to make that mistake twice by stepping right up and defending Dr. Susan Rice. Hopefully this term he'll save us all a lot of time and grief and just appoint whoever he wants wherever he wants during recess. They'll be throwing tantrums and obstructing no matter what he does, so fuck'em.

Doing a great job like the democrates did won Obarma the election. The GOP will not win elections to come if they can‘t destroy democratic foreign policy.

was just disgusting. The only reason he won last time is because Martha Coakley assumed since she was a democrat and it was Ted Kennedy's old seat that it was a given she would win. Massachusetts may be blue but you have to do some campaigning.

But the attacks that Brown made on Elizabeth Warren's Native American heritage was borderline racist. But since he had a shitty record of supporting the GOP almost 100% of the time he had nothing else to campaign on to prove a blue state should re-elect him.
