Guests on todays Sunday shows.
ABC This Week: Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, GOP Rep. Michael McCaul, GOP Senator Tim Scott (2 republicans and 1 democrat, although cabinet Secretaries are non-partisan well count him as a Dem)
CBS Face the Nation: Secretary of State Antony Blinken, GOP Senator Mitch McConnell, Liz Cheney (again 2 Republicans and 1 Democrat)
FOX News Sunday: GOP Senator Mitch McConnell, Dem Rep. Adam Smith, Newt Gingrich (once again 2 republicans and 1 democrat)
NBC Meet the Press: Secretary of State Antony Blinken, GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy, Mike Pence. (Yet again 2 republicans and 1 democrat)
How do any of these show claim any credibility when their bias is so blatant.

(20,301 posts)Cheney is, was, and will be a Republican. She's just not a fascist. But I don't feel like giving her a brownie button for that. Those like her are hostages to the monster they've ALL helped create. The place most of the Republican voters are today, i.e., maga land, is the logical conclusion of 40 years of politics based on irrational, populist anger and racism.
Make no mistake, guys like Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt and others may have rebelled from the fascist turn of their party with The Lincoln Project, but they're still Republicans and are responsible for creating this mess. They're like Victor Frankenstein helping to hunt down and kill the monster they created.

(4,306 posts)In the House, Cheney voted for 100% for Trump initiatives. Any vote for or by any Republucan is a vote for Trump and MAGA.

(1,903 posts)Normally when a leader is forced out he or she disappears in disgrace.
He's still in the physical Speaker's office, he's in the middle of all the negotiations and drama regarding the new Speaker. It's just weird. Obviously he wants the job back but why are the hardliners (if they hate him so much) tolerating his involvement? I'm convinced he backed Jordan knowing full well he wouldn't get the job.

(49,993 posts)They are more likely to misspeak simply because there are more of them with more air time today. And they are the ones shutting down the House.
Bonus time: There are so many of them there's bound to be some fundamental conflicts in what they say. Let the media parse the inconsistencies. Then you can hold them to account.
SocialDemocrat61
(4,278 posts)How did that work out?
bucolic_frolic
(49,993 posts)Say what you want about Trump, he did not campaign on a transparent platform of shutting down the government.
Now in the House that is an overt and recognized policy goal.
There are a lot of deep issues behind the salient political motions. Those must be exposed to the American voting public. Broadbrushing doesn't help that objective.
SocialDemocrat61
(4,278 posts)Giving more time to Republicans without pushing back on their lies doesn't help that objective either.

(15,140 posts)I would be all fired up for the Sunday morning shows as Clinton's term ended and W took over, and it was the same ratio back then, and you would see Tim Russert who was viewed as some honorable fair broker ask the R one semi hard question then back off, then condescendingly drilling the Ds.
Threw in the towel and haven't gone back.
