2012 G8 Meeting In Chicago In May......
From May 15-22, 2012. It will tie up Chicago and cause all kinds of traffic jams due to motorcades of foreign dignitaries being limo'ed from O'Hare and Midway airports. Security is said to be a nightmare. Concurrent with the G8 meeting will be the NATO summit.
Rahm lobbied the WH to have these events held in Chicago. Spring in Chicago should be a picnic thanks to Rahm.
I'm actually concerned for the city. Even though all the worlds attention will be directed at Chicago - that is both a blessing and a curse - cause all the worlds attention will be directed at Chicago. It will be the center of the Universe during that time period and all I can think of is the trouble that occurred at other G8 meetings in other parts of the world.
Seems to me a good time to vacation out of the Chicago area.
