(35,554 posts)This amendment is about changing it to make citizen initiatives to change the constitution harder. Far too many far right republicans are voting for it because they want to be able to change other things in the constitution.
Yes - the reason it was brought now was to beat the November reproductive rights amendment. But that vote will be a lot closer than this one.

(17,468 posts)Lots of small gov Republicans didn't like this bill. They don't trust minority rule any more than we do.
But I'll take the win no matter the reason, and would be very happy to be convinced it was a pro woman vote.
