The Roberts' Court in striking down Roe v Wade and Affirmative Action, its Citizen United decision..

and the disgraceful ruling allowing discrimination against gays, and of course discrimination against other others will follow (see Wisconsin Speaker Robin Vos says he'll move to end minority scholarship program after Supreme Court ruling. https://www.democraticunderground.com/108429770), has regressed the nation back to pre-civil rights days, possibly even to a neo-jim crow era.

Roberts is simply the worst chief justice since Roger B. Taney — he of the blatantly racist Dred Scott decision. And that's not even including how Roberts hasn't moved to establish an ethiics code for SCOTUS justices despite the recent, scandolous revelations of near-bribery by billionaires lavishing gifts worth tens of thousands, even millionllions of dollars on more than one current justice.

He could have released the opinion ending affirmative action for disadvantaged minorities (wealthy white people are unaffected, naturally) on Juneteenth. Think of the symbolism!

If he’s this unplugged from the way our country is moving and evolving with the changing times, it wouldn’t surprise me at all. He must be busy yearning to bring back the “good old days” (whatever they are!).

Remember when he fucked up administering the oath to BO? Like he choked, ushering in an AA president.

BO rightfully made him re-do it.

Surely this will go down in history as the worst period of jurisprudence ever. I shudder at the thought of what could be even worse.

and WE forgot. It should have been, if you were on that case (for Bush) you are a treason weasel and should not be eligible for any higher level federal judgeship and or the Supreme court.

That case was the end of democracy as we knew it.

before becoming a judge and even after was gung-ho for Plessy and while on the SC said there is a "plausible argument" for "separate but equal". By the time Scalia came along Leonard Leo was already well on the way with the plan to groom radical judges who would rule not on the law or precedent but rather invent twisted rationales in order to achieve a desired conclusion.

Rehnquist was a weasel through and through. Siding with Scalia the two were responsible for the now famous viewpoint in Herrera v Collins that once convicted a prisoner cannot bring a habeas claim based solely on claims of new evidence that shows innocence. He argued that there were other legal remedies at the lower levels of the courts. Of course his assumption would be that the lower courts would take the appeals and do their jobs correctly. We all know how that works. Scalia was very glib in his language about people facing execution when in one part of his argument he says that "with luck" the court would not have to face this "embarrassing" question again because he felt it was "improbable" that evidence of innocence would fail to get an executive pardon. Scalia said all of that without any acknowledgement of the actual past/current history of judicial/prosecutorial/executive misconduct in this country. The staggering gall of Scalia and his flippant and dismissive attitude towards people and the condescending language used has been championed/carried on by the current crop of garbage in black robes. This is how you get a supposed serious justice like Alito going back to the days of witches, wizards, spells and black cats for forming the basis for his decisions and language.

The glib, condescending Scalia was/is the extreme right's rock star jurist...and if I may contend, the current SCOTUS 6 on the right are his disciples.

Eff' 'em all, and I hope karma gets them like it did Scalia (rumored to have died in a whorehouse on a billionaire-financed, free trip).

At least Taney made rulings on facts and reality. Robert makes rulings on imaginary cases ginned up by his favorite Nazis. Even in the awful Dredd Scott decision it involved real people and real events.

There was never a wedding website maker who turned away a gay man's request. There never was a gay man who even asked her to do a website. And she never ever made any wedding websites for customers.

There was no standing in the student loan case. No one lost money or would have lost money with student loan forgiveness. No servicer complained about the forgiveness or even filed with the Supreme Court or state courts about possibly losing money. It was made up by the Missouri State Attorney and several other GOPQ states attorney. It was all fake ginned up lies.

None of what the Supreme Court ruled on for student debt relief or wedding site developers is true or real. It's all fake. No other Supreme Court has ever been this corrupt as to make up the facts.
