Drove from Columbus, Ohio to Springfield, Ohio yesterday
and it was surreal smoky hell scape. Still have smoke here now. The forests that are burning now should be soaking wet at the forest floor level because they have snow cover 4 to 8 months of the year and they covered with damp stuff too. Ferns, moss, rotting wood, blueberries, ponds, rivers, wolves, Northern Pike, boreal
spruce fir ecosystems, and lakes. This is scary shit.

(27,691 posts)2. I'd like to say we humans had a good run
but it was merely a blip on the cosmological calendar. Within a few dozen millennia, all trace will be lost or obscured. If a sentient species manages to emerge after 🌎 achieves something close to equilibrium, I hope they dont make the mistakes we did.

.. becomes a "red giant" and it extends out past where Mars is now but the question of being habitable for homo sapiens is not a given.
It is > 200 year old science that the more CO2 in a body of gas the more heat that body will hold.
