She taught Mick Jaggar to dance. True story, but she and he have confirmed it. Of course the Stones and the Beatles and everyone else from that era learned basically everything from black artists. Lol.
Tina was so many things, but to me, she exemplified a strong female role model. And her talent was undeniable. She overcame so much in this life.
RIP, Tina Turner!!

(31,399 posts)After Ike and Tina split up - and the big start of Tina's solo career - she was invited to perform with the Stones. I'm thinking it must have been the early 70's. Tina and Mick had already been friends/fans for several years.
Great story!

(23,162 posts)Ike and Tina Turner were the Stones' opening act on that tour that ended with the infamous Altamont concert. That's when Tina taught Mick how to dance.
That movie includes a great segment of Ike and Tina in their prime.
