its time for the NCAA to take a stand on florida and texas

thats one way to really hit the state. take away their precious sports.

start with removing football and basketball championships.
other states could block their state schools from traveling to road games in those states.
the NCAA should allow student atheletes at schools in those states to transfer to other states

its time for a complete and total isolation of both states

to go further the airlines should start curtailing flights to those states. flight attendants and pilots could refuse to fly there.

1. Student athletes can enter the transfer portal pretty easily now

and go anywhere. Not like it used to be. But why they stay is beyond me. Especially female athletes., or those of color.

2. Sounds like a plan

Which side do you think Ohio, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and many others will come down on.

I have an even better idea ... have Bud Light lead the charge.

Fuck around and find out. Florida and Texas could form their own league overnight and 75% of the other states would follow in 5 minutes. High school and college sports are so popular in the southern states that even mentioning something this absurd by any media corporation would lead to disaster ... overnight.

ESPN, CBS, Turner, and a few others would sue and get out of their contracts within days and the NCAA would go from a billion dollar "non profit" to nothing. Musk, Fertitta, or any number of billionaires would jump all over this and make a new league that they would then own, so much for all the diversity, inclusion, and good things being done, all gone ... overnight.

And airlines not flying to states? That is just crazy ... What if Texas decides to not ship any fuels refined in Texas to California and New York? Insanity.

3. College bans are already a thing. Cal state universities ban purchases in at least 10 states.

4. They are not working.

In fact the CA Senate Leader is trying to rescind the ban in CA.

California may end travel ban to states with anti-LGBTQ laws

When North Carolina in 2016 banned transgender people from using the bathroom of their gender identity in public buildings, California retaliated by banning state-funded travel to that state and any other state with laws it deemed discriminatory against LGBTQ people.

But seven years later, California now bans state-funded travel to nearly half of the country following a surge of anti-LGBTQ legislation in mostly Republican-led states.

The prohibition means sports teams at public colleges and universities have had to find other ways to pay for road games in states like Arizona and Utah. And it has complicated some of the state’s other policy goals, like using state money to pay for people who live in other states to travel to California for abortions.

Wednesday, state Senate leader Toni Atkins announced legislation that would end the ban and replace it with an advertising campaign in those states that promotes acceptance and inclusion for the LGBTQ community. The bill would set up a fund to pay for the campaign, which would accept private donations and state funding — if any is available.

5. The NCAA isn't know as a progressive organization

Particularly when policing SEC schools.

7. Student athletes are allowed one "free" transfer.

That is, without losing a year of eligibility and sitting out a season. They generally can also get waivers if a coach leaves the program, or other reasons such as family health situations.

So, the students in Florida and Texas or other magat states can transfer out on their own accord using these options, mainly the free transfer.

Removing football and basketball championships isn’t going to happen, there is too much money and contracts involved, especially football money, and the money from those sports generally pays for the other “non revenue” sports. Also remember who the NCAA is - the college presidents.

The student athletes and their coaches and faculty and students (and fan base) can provide the most powerful protest and activism against these egregious actions taking place in magat state governments. Muffin McGraw (former famous Notre Dame Women’s basketball coach) recently came out very harshly. Google it if you missed it. Right now college sports needs more Muffin McGraw’s.
