Obama is currently at 62,030,023 votes (according to CNN)
That puts him about 10,000 and change votes shy of Bush's 2004 total: 62,040,610.
Notice that Obama has currently a much larger lead than Bush had over Kerry at final tally. At final tally, Bush had a 3,012,166 vote lead over John Kerry. Obama's current lead over Mitt Romney is 3,284,621. In other words, Obama's about to pass Bush's total vote in 2004, and his lead over his opponent is 272,455 votes larger.
Size matters.
If updates keep coming in, I expect Obama to pass Bush's 2004 total this evening.

(2,117 posts)Obama needs to take advantage of this, he was easily reelected President and he needs to use the power that comes with this.
