Daily Mail ^ | 05/16/2023 | KAYLA BRANTLEY and LAURA COLLINS, CHIEF INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER and RUTH STYLES
Firebrand congresswoman Lauren Boebert filed for divorce from her husband after 18 years of marriage Tuesday bizarrely stressing in a statement that she has 'always been faithful.' And in an exclusive text to DailyMail.com, hubby Jayson, 42, said: 'I am torn by this a very sad thing. A horrible moment in my life. 'I love her too much to say anything bad about her. She is the mother of my children and my partner for the last 20 years. Please just let me have some peace.' Boebert, 36, cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for filing. A court hearing...

(49,000 posts)Irreconcilable differences for a women filing means she has a side piece, hypergamy in action due to her age especially, along with after getting elected, and just bored with the current thing. Please get off your cult of personality obsession, these creatures in high position power are all unabashedly hypocrites. Boebert can't even practice what she preaches. Citizens are in this cultural and financial mess in the first place because we do not hold our leaders to higher standards. Sick to death of politicians, which she is just another in the line of blurring the lines between citizen and public servant.

I went to a conference at one of his properties years ago (long before he was prominent politically) and I asked one of the floor workers if he ever came around. He said no, that Mr. T*ump was too put off by shaking hands with his customers to do that more than just once in a while. So I'm glad I never got to meet him.

(297 posts)I observed this years ago. The ones who go off about being country girls, they're never from the country, they're from suburbs or cities and live in huge houses.
The actual country women? They would pound these country girls into the ground if given the chance. They never have the f-ed up political or religious outlook of the "country girls" either.
Bernardo de La Paz
(49,000 posts)It was ever thus in politics and religion. People who can't even finish high school can have enough people-sense to con some voters, especially in primaries, and then carry the rest purely on the basis of the Party label.
Similarly with religious leaders, like "Pastor" John Sean Fuckit.

(4,741 posts)The religion has been in freefall long before that. They've done it to themselves for decades, and it didn't help that liberal education has been kicking it on its way down.
And destroying it--you say that like it's a bad thing.
In reality, the world will be a better place if it went the way of the Greco-Roman deities.

(4,552 posts)Christianity is in free fall. That is just a fact.
Christianity and Christ's teachings are great examples for humanity.
What is bad is how humanity perverts the teachings.

(4,741 posts)Even MLK pointed out that the most segregated places in America are churches on a Sunday morning. And that's still true, today.
Every religion has a degree of tribalism (us v them) at its foundation, but christians have managed to turn that feature up to 11. They have exhibited racism for centuries, to go with their anti-Semitism, xenophobia, misogyny and homophobia. Do I really need to point out how all of the pro-slavery people only had to quote their book's outright support of slavery to justify what they were doing? It is there in the book, you know. It's not my fault if you haven't actually read it.
The religion also has a long history of lusting for power, and of doing some very unsavory things to acquire it--and maintain it. Murder, mass-murder and outright genocide has never been beyond them. That goes back to Constantine. You do know that they aligned with a known murderous psychopath, to enhance their own power...right? A guy who killed his wife with his own hands. Who had his son murdered. That's who the religion didn't even bat an eye about buddying up to for the sake of power.
And don't get me started on their role in the Holocaust--which they instigated and carried out. Martin Luther came up with the exact blueprint for it that the Nazis followed. Over 50 years before Hitler, composer Richard Wagner had coined the term "Final Solution" for how to handle Jews, once and for all. He didn't say it ironically or as a joke. He meant it. And he didn't learn that by himself. He learned it from his christian beliefs and culture.
The hatred of Jews would have been non-existent without the centuries of christians promoting hatred of them. Hatred that repeatedly resulted in torment and even murder of Jews. The Holocaust was merely the standard pogrom taken to excessive levels because an entire government was on board with it, got millions of the citizenry on board with it--and had a massive leap in technology to carry it out in ways never before available to those who hate enough.
Only someone completely ignorant of that history could find it surprising for christians to be christian nationalists.

(4,741 posts)There are no exceptions.
Unless you're willing to say that, as a christian, you support the slavery advocated in Leviticus 25:44-46.
Or that you support forcing a rape victim to marry her rapist, as is called for in Deuteronomy 22:28-29.
Or that you support kidnapping women and raping them to force them into marriage, like in Judges 21:10-24.
That's all in the book. Since you're claiming not to pick it apart, then, by your own remark, one must conclude you follow and practice all of that. And don't say that the laws were "canceled." First of all, if those are canceled, then so are the 10Cs. They come from the same part of the book. Second, saying the laws are canceled goes against what the demigod said about those laws being in effect until the end of the earth. Matthew 5:18. Red letters, no less!
This is the problem with saying people pick and choose from the book when you don't like their selections. I don't think you subscribe to any of that awfulness I listed, but if you don't, then you can't say that you don't pick and choose from the book yourself. Because you obviously do. In a more positive way, I'm sure, but you're still picking and choosing.
To rubbish other people for doing the exact same thing you do is rank hypocrisy.
oldsoftie
(12,533 posts)"These types just pick the parts they like & ignore the rest" Is all I said.
I never claimed to be a BETTER christian, or any other religion, than them or anyone else or that I follow everything to the letter compared to them. I said ONE sentence that is accurate. But to your point, EVERYONE is a hypocrite at some point; including YOU.
So get off your high horse.
ExWhoDoesntCare
(4,741 posts)She's a christian, and whether she's good or bad at it, that's for her deity to determine, if the maniac exists. No one else.
And if it's about the hate, well, why be surprised, when so much of the religion is built on the stuff? Or do you seriously think it's "loving" to promise non-believers an eternity of torture? Do you have any clue whatsoever of how much rage and cruelty and pure hate it takes to torture someone for a few minutes, never mind forever?

(4,874 posts)After a kickoff event attended by seven members of Congress in the U.S. Capitol rotunda March 9, the Kingdom to the Capitol tour headed south with a swing through Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jackson, Mississippi, and Montgomery, Alabama this past weekend. In Alabama, Chief Justice Tom Parker, a longtime ally of the disgraced former Chief Justice Roy Moore, participated in the tour and invited Feucht to pray in the Supreme Court chamber.
Rep. Lauren Boebert was among the members of Congress who joined a small crowd in the U.S. Capitol March 9 to sing along with Feucht as he strummed his guitar. Afterwards, Feucht tweeted, The Capitol became an Altar There is ONE KING over America
...
He also claims to have cured Ron DeSanctimonious' wife of cancer by praying over her (never mind the chemo).
