About an hour ago I heard her live on a CNN panel on Tapper's show. The panelists all tiptoed around the elephant in the room. While they kept saying that tfg was so brave to face questions, and listed topics for tough questions, no one said who would be asking the questions. They kept trying to imply that these republican voters would be challenging him.
Finally, Laura Coates (paraphrasing) said the last thing we want to do is normalize trump. And she questioned whether the repub voters would challenge him.
Everyone else looked uncomfortable. Thanks, Laura!

(59,649 posts)CNN seems to have gone full-trumper. Don Lemon's firing must've been a warning to all to lean to the right.

(34,749 posts)MSNBC is on shaky ground with me too. I have a lot of favorites, but if they fire Joy, that's it. Strike 3, I'm done.

They need to fired Andrea Mitchel in the morning line-up.

(21,738 posts)but they were heavily implying that he was going to face tough questions from these voters when he has been in a rightwing bubble for years now.

Giving trump an oppportunity to spread is vile vulgar garbage is disgusting.
I don't want to hear that he is the front runner. The convention is a long time off.
Hell, Biden is a front runner, too.
CNN now sinks to the bottom of the sewer with the rest of the turds.

(12,786 posts)They're ancient history for me after their stunt of giving a rapist a platform to spread his lies. Their app has been removed from my phone, their bookmark removed from my browser, and their channel hidden on my streaming service. There are other sources of news which are far more palatable.

(51,308 posts)But every single day, I see DUers posting from twitter, from CNN, from the Times, from NewsMax, from Fox...
I wonder why that is? Surely they don't watch or participate in those platforms? Can't be!

(5,052 posts)But their US programming is unwatchable since TFG came into the picture in 2015. They keep giving the most extreme right winger a platform to spill lies all in the name of "both sides".
I have since moved to foreign news and it's refreshing to watch anchors that actually challenge both sides (and they really do it). They would take whatever the opposition point and ask the interviewee about it, challenging them to answer the real questions. It's so different from the softball BS we get in the US. And thin skin TFG that would walk off the stage whenever an opposing question is asked.

head of the Art Deco organization for an interview. He ran out of small talk while trying to locate the person to interview (I don't remember names). The reporter looked very uncomfortable. He was also extremely handsome. I volunteered for the interview, curious to see where this could go. I was able to only provide a bit of unimportant information, so I looked at the CNN fellow and embarrassed him and likely made a fool of myself getting the camera to come closer and show the viewers how good looking this guy was.
That evening there was a fancy event that I either crashed or was invited to (don't remember). Seems most of the Deco crowd had been watching CNN, and they were demonstrably pissed that an outsider dared to fill in for what's-his-name. There was more to the story, but I only wanted to mention my singular encounter with CNN.

(1,388 posts)To give someone like trump a town hall to spread his lies and conspiracy crap, makes me weep with frustration and sadness.
CNN has lost all credibility, or what little they had left.
Shameful.
