More Bud Light-Dylan Mulvaney Fallout: Marketing Executive Out Amid Far-Right Uproar Alissa Heinerscheid, Bud Light’s vice president of marketing, has taken a leave of absence, according to AdAge, weeks after the brand was criticized and boycotted by far-right personalities for its marketing partnership with transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney.

4. I am so fed up with these hateful grotesque ignorant people. I'm convinced they just look
for targets to collectively hate. I'm moving back up north and the hell with many places in the US. Many need to get a life and quit looking for things to hate because, oh, it just feels good to destroy people. Yeah, I know, some good people live in those states, but I just need to get away from it.

Unfortunately he is adding another date to his tour here in Michigan because of demand. The first show sold out.

15. He gives a great live performance!
Last time we saw him we had 3rd row and he went into a racist political campaign speech. My wife wanted to walk out, we stayed but I'll never pay to see him again. What an egocentric asshole!

9. She insulted her own customers
And when you're a marketing executive, probably not a great career move.
I'm not saying the marketing itself was a problem. It was her comments about the uproar - which were spread very far, very wide, and tossed some gasoline onto the fire. She basically called the people who drink their beer a bunch of shitty frat boys (couched in marketing terms, of course). Welp! Not what you want from your marketing people when the goal is customer retention. Now the company wants a sacrificial lamb to appease the mob, and she painted a rather large target on herself. It reminds me a bit of medieval uprisings in England. They always wanted the removal of "evil counselors" as their demands. Not the king, really. Just, you know, someone vaguely important floating around there will do. |

14. Not at all surprised
The whole reason for marketing is to increase sales of a brand or product. In a consumer product like beer, successful marketing is what drives people to choose your brand over a competitor. The entire beer industry is all about marketing as there isn't much to differentiate one from another. When a company spends money on a marketing concept and the result is a quick decline in sales, that would mean it was a failure.
If a marketing campaign is very successful, those who were in charge of creating and executing it receive the credit; when it ends up being a failure, they are then going to receive the blame. They are in that executive position to market the brand in order to increase sales and profits. This may end up being a classic textbook example of how not to market a product, joining the infamous New Coke debacle. |

18. Saw at least twice today a Bud ad touting their patriotic bona fides ...
First they have one of their lovable big horses trotting through a rural landscape, then a couple raising the American flag. The guy has some patriotic label on his shirt and the woman puts her hand over her heart. Also a couple of bros sharing a beer on an American porch.
