Okay--officially creeped out by one of my son's classmate's parents...

You know. Those uber-patriotic folk. Who raise the American flag, say the Pledge every day at breakfast etc? They're so patriotic they're doing this crap...

Well, one of the "football moms" just posted this on her facebook. It's very patriotic:

http://www.facebook.com/texasnatmov

Although THIS comment IS priceless:

Russ Gaenzle-We will need a lot of money to become a country. So Jim, we will need 50% of all you make. In fact, like other independent country that make it ... we will need everyone 50% of their pay check. Texas is very big. So will start charging more fee. Got a gun their a $100 fee for each gun. TV - fee to watch TV. I hope you get my point. I as President of Texas will fee you and everyone and tax you to pay for everything. We have to protect our Texas... so we have a place to enjoy like Christine Lund wants. Then who is going to protect you and your jobs...this takes money.

that I have been blocked from the page:

Bo Baker commented on Texas Nationalist Movement's Wall post.
Bo wrote: "I am personally hoping you starve to death once the socialist state runs out of $$$ and China calls in its markers."

I cannot seem to find a way to respond to this yo-yo but I might say something like this if I could:

"The Socialist States of America have decided to send Sherman v 2.0 down there to do a little housekeeping. We'll be salting the earth when done."

Even in Harris County, which includes Houston, Romney beat Obama slightly.

At Fri Nov 9, 2012, 09:42 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

Okay--officially creeped out by one of my son's classmate's parents...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021780603

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

If someone posted a link to my FB on FReepers, I would be PISSED.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Nov 9, 2012, 09:53 PM, and the Jury voted 1-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: hmmm alerter seems a little too CONCERNED about a fb org page, NOT a personal page, perhaps admins should look at this alert
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: It's an example of how strange and ill informed some people are.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: To the alerter: Why don't you try having EVERY FUCKING THING you post warped, distorted, bandied about and otherwise generally mocked and made fun of by a website full of so-called conservative fuckwits the way I do? Yeah. I'm a darling over at the Conservative Cave and all I've done is dare to be a liberal with food addiction and its ensuing health problems. Losing over 2/3 of my excess weight hasn't shut them up, and frankly I doubt anything ever will. So, if I can post about my life and experiences here and have to live with that, then this person can put up their own public information and take their risks, and frankly so can you. All that having been said, this is also one of the most idiotic alerts I've ever been summoned to judge. Signed, as always,

--Systematic Chaos
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given

I guess, considering what I am seeing on my facebook here in Texas, it is inevitable that someone will get the big idea to form their own country -lol! I have friends from high school who have friended me on FB over the years who now are deleting all democratic friends and still just ranting and raving. I tried to explain that this type of behaviour is unpatriotic because we are supposed to rally around our duly elected officials - but they are absolutely going crazy bizerk right now. These are grown up middle aged white Americans who think the world is coming to an end. I just don't understand how they could be thinking about things so differently than I - when we come from the same background? Its very puzzling. I honestly believe that some of it is just plain old racism in some of them. Makes me sick but I'm so happy to find this website tonite! thank you!!

As a teenager then, I vividly remember the 60's riots, when a dozen major cities all across the country were suddenly burning at once. Those of us old enough to remember that know exactly what I mean, about what will come from that, and how fast. Their heads will spin. They don't begin to guess what they're messing with. And that was 40 years ago.

If they ever do this, it will be a big Darwin moment.

Sounds like just a lot of frantic chest thumping to me in order vent their frustration. Maybe as children, pitching tantrums worked for them so they haven't developed past that stage in their lives. They seem to have a very warped and egocentric world view.

I'm concerned about your friends ability to string some words together, let alone educate her kids. The reason I ask is the uber-patriotic one's tend to home school.

First off, if they want to call the Civil War the "War of Northern Aggression", I'm going to start calling it the "War to End American Slavery", which is far closer to the truth of any other term.

More to the point here, I had no idea that the innocuous UN Agenda 21 (a set of vague helps and guidelines for nations to use for urban planning) had been turned into a paranoid conspiracy theory with considerable backing. Who knew that a few greenbelts could be so dangerous?

People who think tackling climate disaster will be simply a matter of buying a new powerplant would do well to watch this and consider what a battle it's destined to be.
