General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe Slobfather did not call Alvin Bragg a degenerate psychopath
(as said by a regular on Morning JoeScum). He called him a denigrate psychopath which is both crazy effing stupid and racist to the core.
Denigrate - late Middle English (in the sense blacken, make dark): from Latin denigrat- blackened, from the verb denigrare, from de- away, completely + nigrare (from niger black).
Takket
(21,529 posts)Makes no sense in that context. It is a verb, not an adjective. I feel like he just doesnt know the difference between those two words lol

(268,724 posts)but he so wanted to use the N word that denigrate is what he typed.
The Magistrate
(95,243 posts)I'd never noticed that shade in the word, but once pointed out it stands clear.
Something to call the common practice in attack ads against a black candidate of darkening his or her skin in the pictures....
malaise
(268,724 posts)since it was a racist insult to people looking like us.

(13,547 posts)must have picked up his vocabulary watching Our Gang knows that word.
He may have been misspelling degenerate and accepted what his autocorrect threw out without reading it closely.

(15,534 posts)He has the vocabulary of a first grader (or less), so I doubt he chose that word himself.
Hugh_Lebowski
(33,643 posts)Even more unlikely is that, if he did know the word, he'd known it had any association with 'blackness' and used it purposefully because of that, as some suggest above.
And a 'coach' would've said 'that word makes no sense there, it's a verb, not an adjective'.
I'll take 'auto-correct' for $1000, Alex.

(70,449 posts)But the Manhattan case might be the weakest as per the penalties.
* They have the tapes, the phone calls, the checks, the stolen documents, and
2 of his lawyers now have to give testimony against him because judges ruled that
he was using his lawyers to break the law. Now, people like Lindsey Graham, Rudy,
and Meadows will have to see if they want to go to prison for Trump.
but we want the strongest penalties 😀
Botany
(70,449 posts)it will no longer be able to do business in the state. I suspect criminal referrals will come from that
case and the House J-6 committee has submitted its findings and evidence to the DoJ and Jack Smith
asking for criminal indictments.

Botany
(70,449 posts)I think that is the case but I might be wrong.

And it looks like Weisselberg messed up his immunity deal and has to flip more to avoid more prison.

(17,175 posts)Probably thought he was saying "degenerate."
Denigrate is usually a verb meaning put somebody down, of course. Though you never can tell, so many verbs are adjectives and nouns these days.

(43,155 posts)I only saw his Truth posting with "degenerate," and I don't know if he actually used "denigrate" but later edited it to "degenerate."
I somehow doubt it, given the fact that he's perfectly fine with leaving references to a "stollen election" as is, unless he actually is referring to a ballot initiative concerning a German Christmas bread.
Remember this is a guy who literally can't spell the name of his favorite food correctly.
Is it still a Freudian slip if the person's subconscious is too stupid to understand the meaning of the word he or she accidently blurted out?
