Why are the trumpers still hanging on to Trump? He did a piss poor job as President, did illegal
business in office, called for the overthrow of our legal election., called for the attack on the Capital, stole government documents, etc, etc. And people still love him. Why? it is so mind boggling that he is still calling the shots. He is a loser and people still follow him and hand on his every word. Why? My neighbor just raised his Trump flag. It's upsetting that there are some people in this country so utterly stupid.

5. I'm not so sure all Trump supporters are stupid
Many of them, yes, dumb as a rock, but many are probably racist, white supremacist fascist wannabes like Trump. They see a kindred spirit who hates Dems as much as they do, so they will hang on to him as long as possible.

7. Their loyalty to him has nothing to do with his actual performance as president.
He gave racists and anti-Semites and misogynists and other assorted bigots permission to hate and discriminate against whoever they want in public and as loudly as they want. He gave a voice to the nasty inner prejudices of a lot of nasty people and they love him for it.

14. That's the fundamental question, I think.
Many people were and are faithful to a leader whose most "attractive" feature is that he hates the same people they hate. They like it that he punches down. We know what's wrong with Trump, but how did millions of other people become so hateful that he's their idea of a great leader?

11. The rump is coordinating his own arrest
If this is really happening Trump is either putting it into play or allowing it to happen for his own designs. Try to remember you are watching a movie. Nothing is what it seems. Trump and the white hats are putting heavy pressure right now on the cabal to force them to move faster than they planned to. That’s how they’re taking out the cabal. Its working if you are paying attention.

13. At A Guess, Ma'am
I expect the fact that he talks the same sort of blustery trash they do, comic book stuff that never could happen, that they're sure would set the world to rights, is a good part of the explanation. They see themselves in him, and like the sight writ large. It's not a question of belief but of maintaining incorporation into the Body of MAGA. A mass of people so small as individuals nothing but spite and hate can serve to take them beyond themselves. And all they have to do is put on the red cap, the mark of assimilation....

Kevin McCarthy is beating the drums calling for an investigation into the 'corruption' and politically motivated action of the New York DA while denouncing any and all accountability for The Donald.
The enablers embrace and support the wanna-be autocrat as has been the case throughout history. Because their futures and fate are tied to the All Hail the Orange One. Fear and loathing is on the rise. |

think, why didn't just leave the WH peacefully like other Presidents did. What is in it for him? What is in it for his cult? He has no authority to tell anyone what to do or not do. But still the racist mop listen him faithfully.

39. Trump and his followers want to break the doors down or if not . . .
lay siege to the castle creating so much chaos and anxiety that the rest of us will simply surrender, hand over the keys and let them ransack the government.
I've read that many of the enablers believe Trump's indictment(s) will lead to a successful rebid for the White House, that all this drum-beating is a way of exciting his supporters who will flood the polls and carry him into a second term. I don't buy it. Holding The Donald and his cronies accountable is the only way to protect the rule of law as opposed to the rule of man, in this case the rule of one man. As for his followers? There are white nationalists, Neo-Nazis and general malcontents/militia who revel in the chaos. Then there are power hungry lunatics like Bannon and his ilk who believe in burning the house down to ash, then reimagining it in their own image. For the average American Trumper? They are so steeped in disinformation and distortion that they've become True Believers, unwilling and unable to see the true magnitude of gross ambition, lust for power and corruption destroying the very country they claim they love. And yes, latent racism, sexism, xenophobia, etc. has bubbled up and fueled the movement. It's an incredible example of mass delusion but it follows the dynamics of cult behavior. Dear Leader can never do wrong; he is the fount of all wisdom and truth. Believing anything less means the world and hero shatters into a million tiny pieces. As for Donald Trump and what's in it for him? Escaping accountability along with exacting vengeance on his enemies. That would be us. |
