Just for the Hell of it -- imagine tfg goes to prison, and is elected POTUS anyway ...

(or "as a result thereof" ).

If he is serving a sentence in GA, I find it all too plausible that he would be released from prison to attend the Inauguration.

But ... suppose he is in prison in NY state. Can the Dept. of Corrections, or even the warden of the particular prison, decide on his own authority that such a release would not be appropriate? I would hope so, and that a delegation sent to swear in the President-Elect (Inauguration is not required to take place in DC) would be subjected to every conceivable inconvenience possible, all while providing maximum presentation of the President-Elect as a convicted criminal confined to prison. Could the then-POTUS issue an Executive Order requiring his own release, or would the state challenge his authority to do so? Would that result in a protracted court battle while the erstwhile POTUS cools his heels in a cell? And if the VPOTUS is more smart than loyal, could s/he, as Acting President, assemble a Cabinet of tfg opponents, and resort to the 35th Amendment? This is pretty wild speculation, edging towards fantasy ... UNLESS ... maybe ... GOPers not loyal to tfg start to think to themselves, "how can we stop Trump, even if he gets an Electoral College majority?". GOPers aren't much known for creativity except when it's self-serving, but maybe this is a case where a little creativity could serve their own interests as well as the broader national (and global) interest.

And what kind of dreams do YOU have?

2. If that happens, talk about a banana republic.

The U.S. will lose what's left of our credibility. Jesus, what a mess he got is in and we KNEW it would happen.

7. We should have a similar turn out and outcome as in 2020

Democracy is every bit under danger now. Abortion is still illegal and the cost is greater now that South Carolina is pushing the death penalty for getting one. Transgender people can still vote. None of us are going to just roll over. Marianne Williams and Jill Stein are not worthwhile opponents to Trump or Desantis
