Male domination of women's sexuality and their lives is still the prescription for Christian living. Through the use of "virginity' pledges for their daughters and subjugation of their wives their family values agenda assures multigenerational dominance of the "father". In their view women are the keeper of the home for the comfort of their husband and children. Women are encouraged to "stay home" and do the chores as prescribed by the Bible.

Even though the voters rejected the conservative prescription for women, the religious right is determined to prevail as long as it takes. They view this election as only a temporary setback in their quest to install a theocratic government.
