The American flag at the Follansbee McDonald's is flying at half-staff and upside down today. Someone at the restaurant told one of our reporters this was "the owner's decision."

Just a thought, but don't you think the local police should be notified? Isn't flying the flag upside a sign of distress?

that was because of the Chicago firefighter who passed away.

Regardless of the politics of Corporate McD's, they do NOT take to this shit kindly. They are run like a military, and the franchisees are very very controlled. I think I'll be popping over to their corporate site to complain.

8. Dig this. Called McD corporate. They're saying "oh, it wasn't intentional!!"

I looked at the pic. No way that is what happened. The flag is not flapping in the breeze on a broken cable... and it broke exactly half-way up?? I told her that I'm sure that is what they're saying now, but no one believes them. Glad that other people are calling!!!

But the FR post refers to a tv station there, whose reporter was told it was intentional.
