When reading the January 6th Report I'm repeatedly amazed that Donald Trump isn't locked up in a Supermax prison right now for treason.
And the fact he has the nerve to actually run to be President again shows he's a true sociopath with no conscience.
If Trump isn't held accountable for his one man (ongoing) crime spree against America our democracy is truly broken. And he could end up back in power again like Netanyahu. Hell he's already the shadow Speaker of the house.
It's not too late for Garland or the DA's in Georgia and New York to do the right thing and indict this traitor. They better hurry though.

(2,174 posts)the presidential primary season in the US begins 14 months ahead of the general election, and there is a sacrosanct rule (which only applies to Republicans) that we must not "interfere" by prosecuting their crimes during that entire period, which will enforced by the media (of all people).
But you knew that already, and only asked because you are in the tank for the establishment.

(34,882 posts)And - DAMN! - I sure hope he gets convicted of his crimes.
Whether or not he ever goes to prison, well that's another story. I'm starting to think that no federal judge will sentence him to prison. They all know he's guilty, or they WILL know by the time of the trials. If Chump gets something like a "house arrest" or "time served" or some other lame sentence, I'm not going to be too upset.
The main thing is that once he's convicted of high crimes in office, he can never run for anything again. His career is finished forever. That's the prize we need to hope and pray for.

(826 posts)Not good enough. We need to expose and try him for every crime committed. But he doesn't need to wait to serve time while those trials are commencing. He deserves 10 life sentences. I'm being lenient. Oops, guess I'm out of the jury pools.

That's what he's hoping for right? That he's president by then?
