(4,425 posts)...in the most conservatively gerrymandered district in Minnesota. Hopefully she isn't smart enough to realize that her brand of crazy is on the way out, and she will be defeated in 2014. I'm hoping she doubles down, both for the entertainment value and to watch her continue to dig her own political grave.

(20,317 posts)Bachmann is EXACTLY the kind of Republican we want making headlines. It's the moderates who can make their party more appealing to new voters. Bachmann and others like her play well with the base, but are poison outside of it.

(146,288 posts)However, Minnesota Democrats regained control of both houses of its legislature. With a Democratic Governor, there's a good chance we'll do some great things in the next legislative session. A marriage equality bill is a high priority, since we defeated that vile amendment, along with the almost as vile voter ID amendment. All in all, Minnesota had a very, very good election day.

(146,288 posts)Minnesota has very good, dependable elections. The margin is, I think, too wide for a reversal. However, I believe that Bachmann will soon resign from the House to "seek other opportunities." She doesn't like the job, and the spotlight will be going away for her in the next session. She has no ideas, and no reason to be heard any longer. She won't stay, I'm pretty sure. I think it's called "pulling a Palin."

Batshit is destined to wind up on Faux or one of the looneytune religious channels. I think you are correct in your assessment.
