Targeting Trump "enemies" Comey and McCabe.

And not doing the mandatory Presidential audits for two years.

Just a few hours ago the House passed a bill to make it mandatory.

House passes bill requiring presidential tax audits after revelation Trump skirted scrutiny

The House on Thursday passed a bill that would require annual audits of the president’s tax returns, codifying IRS policy after a congressional committee revealed that the agency did not audit former President Trump during two years he was in office.

Biden's Inspector General says the Comey and McCabe audits were random.

An inspector general for the Internal Revenue Service said this week that significant tax audits conducted for 2017 and 2019 – years where former FBI Director James Comey and then-deputy Andrew McCabe have said they were audited – were randomly selected and did not show misconduct by the IRS.

...and doesn't simply spout it as a phrase that means whatever one wants it to mean then, yeah, when someone says "X should be put on trial" or charged or locked up, etc., then it is appropriate to ask for what offense.

It's a basic concept of the rule of law.

If an administrative law of some kind is not followed, it does not then simply mean that someone is going to be put on trial for a crime.

But it is not "trying" to simply ask, in response to braindead "lock 'em up" rhetoric, "For what?" The laws of this country are conveniently numbered and listed and it should not be hard to identify the one in question which one might have in mind.

Thank Treasury Secretary Mnoochin-less....
Mnoochin,.. yes,.. culprit # 1....

Mnoochin made sure the IRS did not light tRump's ample ass on fire. As Mnoochin headed the US Treasury - the IRS being under the Treasury bureau. He could dial up the IRS reminding them to act in the best interests of tRumpie, ie - no tRump presidential audits - no release of tRump tax returns - ignore any requests.

~~~~~~
THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE (IRS)
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the largest of Treasury's bureaus. It is responsible for determining, assessing, and collecting internal revenue in the United States
