It's going to be hilarious when the American Family Association complains about Senator Baldwin

The Christian Right organization that boycotts anyone who dares to suggest that gay people actually exist will have to tell their supporters about Senator Tammy Baldwin. It'll be like a little meltdown every time.

marriage equality can only ever be won by judicial fiat, i.e. judges declaring denying marriage equality is contrary to a state constitution, absent an amendment. Basically their statement was people reject the notion and that the issue should be the subject of public vote because they don't consider this a civil rights issue because one's sexual orientation is just a matter of choice.

Well tonight that notion was dispelled with passage of marriage equality in Maine, Maryland and likely Washington.

But the marriage amendment in Minnesota is still too close to call. I thought my Scandinavian friends there would have been able to defeat the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing gay bashers. We'll have to see.

One thing is for sure.....with BO in for another 4 years and the Senate in Democratic hands, Obama will likely nominate several justices to the Supreme Court which could bode well for progressive causes.
