If I were Democratic party I would start right now
making up phone lists for next election in house. I have lived with a phone in my hand since 1974. First in my profession then as often as needed for Dems. both in state and out. I know phone lists and I can recognize the difference between a good list and a bad one. In my opinion after calling this cycle in Michigan and Georgia I think buying services of companies that have calling lists just doesn't work.
I'm not talking about classified versus non classified lists. I am talking about lists that are 40% errors, wrong numbers or moved out of state. I can't believe number of wrong numbers, one weary guy told me he had his number for 8 years and no one by the name had ever lived there. I had one guy say he was going to report me for soliciting voter fraud because he lived in Pennsylvania and I was calling for Warnock. Another thing is use the latest technology available. Calling for the actual Warnock official campaign required tying up both a phone line and a computer. I hadn't used that archaic technology since Kerry ran. I believe investing some money in people that want a system to work not just the numbers dialed whether good or bad makes good political sense. As I posted here earlier I felt in last two days calling in Georgia we were just getting on peoples last nerve. As Beau of the fifth column would say "it's just a thought".

1. I personally do not answer my phone if I don't recognize the caller ID
Is there a better way to reach people?

3. phone calls do annoy ppl.
i knocked a door in my hood 1 day to find myself talking to a poly sci prof from northwestern.
he had researched this, and found that phone calls are often counter productive. also said doors win elections hands down. hand addressed post cards and letters are also winners. it’s hard to reach a lot of voters any other way, tho. and i’ve had good phone calls. imho, they work best when it’s not just a vote ask. an event, an action of some kind. an ask for a body. then the vote seems like i tiny ask. |

4. If I were in charge, I'd organize fundraising emails into one per day, for the whole party.
Donors could register, and get their voting district on a database, and choose if they wish to see donations solicitations for outside their district too.
The single email would look something like: NATIONAL Candidate X: Blurb for X, donation link NATIONAL Candidate Y: Blurb for Y, donation link Separate section for DSCC, DCCC etc, as well as local (state elections). One email a day, I would read, and probably donate more. Getting literally 30+ fundraising emails a day means I just delete them because I don't have time to filter through them looking for what's important to me. --- That's my two cents worth. |

8. Agree completely
I’ve been getting 200+ emails and texts every day. No way I’m going to read them all so I don’t read any. I donated to local and state contests and DSSC and DCCC. And Warnock once the runoff was confirmed. It was worse in 2020 when I would get 400+ every day.

9. At one point I was getting at least 10-20 a day from Warnock
A big problem is his campaign had at least 10 different e-mail addresses. Add in the Emails from other Senators supporting him and the DNC And, and, and. I went through those mails 1 by 1 unsubscribing it took a good bit of time. Over 400 hundred emails in a 1 month time span. And yes, I unsubscribed from each and every one, even if email addys were the same. A week later I did it again. to the tune of at least 200 more emails. Not to mention the texts..
Because of that It will be a cold day in Hell before I donate again. My inbox was so jammed up I couldn't find actual important emails. |

5. I've been surprised over the 26 years I've had
this cell phone number just how many wrong calls I've gotten for "Rhonda."
After Experian settled a class action lawsuit for failure to protect our data from a breach, I was given free credit-monitoring reports each month. I set up monitoring on my cell phone number, landline, and email addresses. I was notified that my cell phone number is listed as also belonging to a "Rhonda" in a different Texas town. Plus my older son's name is linked to a California address and our landline number. Our son has always lived in Texas. Identity theft is rampant, which may account for some of the wrong numbers you've gotten. But yes, there's a lot of bad info too. |

6. Reach out to your precinct
Democratic Committee member.
I've already scrubbed the errors, updated numbers, and sent thank you notes and emails. I'm in NJ and we have legislative elections starting in February - so we need to keep the momentum going. The county convention will likely be in March. Its on the precinct people at the local level to do what the party members elected them to do. |

7. Yeah, this is war, and we need to look ahead to the next big battle.
There's no way we can breath easy. We need to prepare to up our game to a higher level for the 2024 election.
Regardless of the Presidential candidate, we have to be prepared to fight the Republicans on the issues we know they will attack us on...immigration, inflation, crime, abortion rights, homosexual rights, taxes, gun control, among others. Every election is important. Every candidate needs to be the best we can put forth for the position and location we are trying to defend or take. We can't let up; not for a minute. The Republicans look long term, Democrats look short term...that's got to change. Too often Republicans drive the agenda, while we Democrats find ourselves reacting to their attacks. We need to be on our front foot, not our back foot. This is how it has to be if we are to persevere; to keep the Oval Office, and Senate, and retake the House. We've got 2 years of Biden appointments going through without serious impediment. And 2 years of Republicans blocking important legislation concerning civil rights, voting rights, homosexual rights, and woman's reproductive rights. We need to use Republicans roadblocks in those areas to our advantage. I hate to say the word, but this is a war...for the future of the nation. |
