I believe they are to remain confidential, and Magats are about to take control of the House, my question to Congressional scholars, Can the committee submit Trump's taxes into the Congressional record?

1. House

I think so, after all, the minority can conduct hearings as well.

2. Senate is entitled to them as well. The chairman simply needs to make the request.

3. Not and have them remain confidential.

However, it was done with the Pentagon papers, and the speech and debate clause protected the Congressman who did it.

4. I imagine that Trump's taxes are voluminous.

Did I spell that right?

Too bad they couldn't get his taxes farther back.

11. The OP noted that they are to remain confidential, and

then asked if they could be placed into the Congressional Record. I answered the question posed in the OP.

6. Answer: no.

Tax records are confidential, absent criminal charges.

7. Would the Congressional record not be considered confidential then?

I guess that's a rhetorical question.

9. But who has standing to challenge it?

Nobody has standing = the law's moot.

8. Don't know about that- also wondering...

If the house committees that see the returns suspect something criminal or fraudulent, could they make a criminal referral to IRS/DOJ?
