How long before the "GOP back in power? Will Dems accept being minority party?" headlines
Because when Dems win, the headlines normally go "Dems back in power. How can the GOP get back into power?"

3. Not long. I'd personally rather tell Fox and AM radio where they can stick it.
I wasn't at all shocked in the slightest when MSNBC last night said that the people keeping Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis in power were white, Christian males over 60 years old. Not shocked at all. We need to fix this.

4. Along with calls for Dems to "reach across the aisle"
You know, just like the media always tells the Repugs to do.

7. Like fucking clockwork
Rs win, breathless reporting on a permanent republican majority with a mandate!
Ds win, calls to work together in a bipartisan manner! I truly believe that over the last 30 plus years I have never seen Rs implored to be bipartisan when they win. |

8. I was doing work at a customer's house when the 2020 election was called for Biden
The customer was watching CNN, and immediately the wise analysts were saying that Biden really needs to reach out to Republicans in order to move the country forward blah blah blah.
Like, IMMEDIATELY. One commentator made the statement in the very same breath with which they announced Biden had won. I truly believe that over the last 30 plus years I have never seen Rs implored to be bipartisan when they win. Same here. It's very much like how Progressives are always told "to empathize with" and "to understand" and "to reach out to" Conservatives, but Conservatives (the nation's self-declared "true" Christians, by and large) never do the same in return.

9. It is trickle down
The right wing bullies the media, the media adapts their line of thinking to placate them, and the idiot masses parrot what the media says.
20 years ago, when Bush was lying the country into Iraq, Chris fucking Mathews, a supposed dem stalwart, was on his show flat out saying, "Rs are the party for national security, just the way it is ..." It has been like watching a slow moving train wreck since my young adult years in the 90s. I just don't get why you, me, and about 1/3 of the country doesn't fall for this shit, but 2/3 of the country eagerly does, to some degree or another. |

10. I'd love to claim that I have some special wisdom in the matter, but nope.
Instead, when I encounter these Republican sales pitches, they come across as obvious bullshit that any person with a pulse should be able to see at once.
I’ve had a coworker for 12 years who’s as smart as I like to pretend to be, but she voted for trump twice and would “absolutely” do so again if he runs in 2024. I asked why, and she said it’s because he’s a great businessman. This is objectively, demonstrably, and obviously false, but this intelligent person has decided to believe it anyway. When a person makes the deliberate choice to ignore verifiable reality, it’s too late to “reach out to” them. |

11. I've heard the great businessman
Thing to and when I try to point out all the bankruptcies and how false that is I get silence.
I will say republicans have done a great job with their brainwashing. Even when we counter with absolute truth we hit a brick wall. |

12. It is the the point where the more wrong they are, the more convinced of how right they are
It really makes it HARDER for them to grasp reality if you hit them with it.
Its mind bending ... |

I know PLENTY of Rs who are IQ smarter than me, and even otherwise decent people, who have full on bought the evil liberal boogyman.
Its a complete mystery. |

14. When Dems win, media interviews Republicans on what Dems can do to win them over
If Republicans win, media interviews Republicans on why they love them.
I see no effect on what the media does based on election results. |
