How Is Internal Polling By The Campaigns Different From Other Polling?...

I keep hearing that the internal poll results that both campaigns have is showing something different than what we hear in MSM of the traditional polls. How and why is this internal polling different?

More so than public polling. So, let's say Romney's campaign really believes he's going to get a huge turn out, the pollsters will adjust the sample to include more Republicans.

In addition to typical polling, campaigns often know a lot from the canvassing, etc. about specific voters, previous elections, etc.
