No Democratic candidates for local offices in my area
Thirteen sections on my ballot and only the Federal offices and the state auditor have Democrats running. All the other sections, including my state rep has only one person on the ballot, all republicans. How can we expect change if we can't get people to run? I've only lived here for 7 years but surely there has to be local members of the Democratic party that want to represent me in the state congress.

3. Like I said, I've only lived here for 6 years
I also have a "northern" accent, don't attend church, have no kids or spouse to win over voters and work 6 days a week so I wouldn't have time to campaign unless I get rid of my source of income. It's tough to get elected if you don't have any ties to the community. That's why I specified a local with roots in the area.

5. If you are in MO (per your profile)
you could check if there is an Indivisible group near you - https://indivisible.org/groups
They have been recruiting and training people to run for office all over the country and I even had someone who was a member of a chapter who lives in my complex. She had left a doorhanger with the (D) platform policies listed and it included her name and a phone number so I could contact her if I had any questions. I know they have been around for awhile (I think since 2016) but this was the first time actually running into someone who was part of it and who was living in my neighborhood. (ETA - I live in Philly but there are chapters all over) |

7. we have a couple of counties in Texas with only the Federal
and statewide candidates because the other contests have no opposition.
We have 3 unopposed Democrats in Tarrant County: 2 in the State House and 1 JP. It has taken our county party 10 years to fill our side of the ballot in the down ballot races. Two others basically have token opposition. |
