Heard on NPR this morning that Romney walked into his last rally to the music of Copeland's "Fanfare

For the Common Man". My immediate thought (I was barely awake then) was that that piece was overly-grandiose for that dipshit to be striding in on, but then the bigger joke hit me - Romney? For the Common Man? Bwahahahahhaha.

Aaron Copland must be spinning in his grave, especially considering this:

It was written in response to the US entry into the Second World War and was inspired in part by a famous 1942 speech where vice president Henry A. Wallace proclaimed the dawning of the "Century of the Common Man".

Copland considered several titles including Fanfare for a Solemn Ceremony and Fanfare for Four Freedoms; to Goossens' surprise, however, Copland titled the piece Fanfare for the Common Man. Goossen wrote "Its title is as original as its music, and I think it is so telling that it deserves a special occasion for its performance. If it is agreeable to you, we will premiere it 12 March 1943 at income tax time". Copland's reply was "I am all for honoring the common man at income tax time."

He had to spend a lot of money on lawyers. Obviously nothing came of it for him.

Just think, Copland is as American as apple pie and the GOP traitors dragged him in front of the witch hunt! Now that dirty liar Romney uses his music. Truly disgusting.

more appropriate music would be "Requiem for the Common Man".

Fortunately, I don't think that one will have to be composed due to this election.

That piece is SO wrong for Romney, beyond the title and the meaning behind it, it's something that should be used for.. royalty. Not some unemployed billionaire schmoe.
